His arms were around you and his scent engulfed you before you even woke up. You could his chest and bandages pressing against your skin and felt his ragged breathing. He wore his cloak with the wings of freedom symbol and the hood was pulled over his face. You awoke and reached for his hand. He pulled it away. He had thick leather gloves on his hand. Every one of his breaths seemed to be lanced with pain. It was as if he was running out of time for something.

"Levi," you whispered. He pressed a gloved finger to your lips. "I'm running out of time (Y/N). If you want to see what I have been hiding from you for this long then you're going to have to be patient." You nodded, giving him the fact you understood. He set you down on the windowsill and opened the windows with a sweep of his gloved hand. He keeled over and you heard his small bursts of moaning as he clutched at his stomach. "What's wrong?" You said. "Levi?"
"I'm ok, I'm ok," he breathed. "Agh, I can't do this. (Y/N)..."
"You can and I believe in you," you said simply. You wanted to pull him into an embrace but as you edged closer he backed away. "No," he said firmly. "Don't touch me yet."

Then without warning, he swept you off your feet and wrapped one arm around your waist. The world span for a moment as he leapt on all fours. You clung to his back as he hurtled for the edge of the balcony and leapt.

His cape flew around you, the wind stung your face. It seemed to scream down your ear. Levi swerved through the air and collided with a wall, his hands gripping it painfully to stay on. You were jolted around as he leapt for the next wall. He was so agile and graceful, in that moment you were convinced he wasn't real. That this was all a dream. You couldn't wake up though. You were already awake. A smile crossed your face at that thought.

As he pushed off and leapt off the wall, he whistled and it pierced through the crisp night air. You heard the stomp of hooves and you both landed hard on something white that smelled of hay and a whiff of stale manure. It didn't take you long to realise you were on horseback. A horse that was supposedly a mare, her white body also peppered with greyer spots. Somebody had plaited her silvery mane in fishtails.

"This is Stella," Levi said, looking back at you from under his hood. "I've had her from a very young age now." He twined a finger through Stella's plaited mane. "You really have a thing with animals Levi. It's beautiful," you said, your head tiredly lolling onto his shoulder. You breathed slowly, still shaken up from the jump. "Aww, c'mere," Levi said, nuzzling your neck. "I see somoene got shaken up from that jump."
"Well, at least I'm now convinced that you're definitely supernatural," you laughed. "Nah," he shrugged. "I'm just fit and agile. Thats all there is to it."
"You jumped the walls Levi," you said rolling your eyes. "No one else could do that without vertical maneuvering." He smiled. "Well just you wait."

He stepped off the horse and lightly pushed you forward. "You're riding at the front," he declared. "Whether you like it or not." Your heart caught in your throat. "Levi I can't... I've never ridden a horse before..." You started but he stood up on his tiptoes and briefly kissed your lip in a way of saying 'be quiet'.
"You can and I believe in you." Tch. Using those same words you used as an excuse. "We all need to take risks (Y/N)," he shrugged. "Try it for me." You smirked. "Alright Bossy know-it-all," you said. "It's Mr Bossy know-it-all to you," he said, hoisting himself onto the back of the horse. You stroked Stella's mane. "You'd better be a good girl now," you laughed nervously. "Or I'll probably die freaking out here."
"Oh you won't need to do much," Levi assured, a teasing smile glowering on his hooded face. "Just enjoy the speed."

Before you could reply, he gave Stella a pat on the butt and she flicked her tail as if to say 'off we go' and sped off into the night. She didn't even bother to go into a slow canter at the beginning. She just shot of like an arrow and galloped full speed. The wind roared in your ears like a thousand lions and tears stung your eyes from it. It wasn't as scary as you thought. You let go of the reins, though you knew it was dangerous, with every risk, every corner Stella turned, every gallop, you would both come flying off. You spread your wings out like you'd once seen those wild geese do as they flew in unison, as your young, bright eyes that had been eager to discover the world shone with delight. You spread them and cried with joy into the night. "I'm flying!" You yelled, for that sensation made you feel like you were, even though your body was rooted to the ground, your spirit was one with all things in the sky. You felt Levi in the back roar with laughter, the beautiful kind and wrap his arms around your waist. You laughed and closed your eyes, feeling his head on your shoulder and wisps of his beautiful black hair caressing your face. "You are the most amazing girl," he whispered in your ear. The words blessed you and circled your head, hanging in the air like magic. It was all magic, every golden moment you shared with him. You wanted to scream with delight and dance until morning with him, knowing that this was no dream. You kissed his hair, sliding your hand through it. "I love you (Y/N). Dont you ever take your beautiful eyes off me. I'll miss them if you do."
"I love you too you idiot," you murmured, feeling his heart beat steadily beneath the palm of your hand. Each beat seemed to connect you both. "I'm so greatful you put me on the front of this horse."
