Stella POV:
Fillipos was waiting for me, impatiently pawing at the ground with a hoof. He's alive, we need to go I neighed. He didn't wait for an explanation, as he'd be getting one later. He just followed on behind me, his massive hooves tearing out the ground. Levi had instructed me to get (Y/N) to safety, as she was all the way back in the stables. I should have thought about taking her with me when I sensed my master in distress, she would know what to do. Oh well, I wasn't always a quick thinking horse.
I knew the people from the stables would be rushing around in panic trying to find me. Or perhaps the wolves could have already gotten to the stables and started to kill them, all the horses I had grown up with. I shrugged the thought off, though it wasn't easy to stop thinking of the gore i'd see when I would burst through the stables. Adrenaline was pulsing through me and I sweated through it all, as did Fillipos, who's rasping pants I heard in my ear. His muscles rippled underneath his sleek fur coat of black. I felt like a free horse racing across the countryside once more, invincible, unstoppable. Now was the time to let that all that out.
Just at that moment I heard a yelp, almost a full on scream before a fiery looking girl appeared from behind a tree and flung herself at me. I neighed in distress as she clung onto my neck, not enough to strangle me but still weighing me down despite her relatively small size and sending us both tumbling across the floor, the ground ripping out below my body. She had full on flung herself at me, whoever it was. Just someone from the stables trying to hold me down. I wasn't letting that happen any time soon so I neighed angrily, snapping and bucking below her like a caged animal. Fillipos tried to interfere but I snapped at him to stay back and he reluctantly stood his ground, looking down at me worriedly, a vein twitching at his neck. It was no use. Even my brutal kicks, writhing and near bites didn't seem to phase her.
Your POV:
Stella bucked violently underneath you and you yelped and cursed in pain as some of her kicks inflicted small cuts in your skin. "Don't you recognise me?" You yelled as you avoided a near bite to your hand from her huge teeth. "Stella it's me (Y/N)!" You pulled the cloak from your face and she stilled, looking at you with what seemed to be a mix of confusion and relief. Then you crawled off her and stroked her nose soothingly. "Its just me. I'm sorry I got you into a fright girl. It's just the commotion in the stables, y'know. I wanted you to be safe, I was pretty scared for you." You twined your fingers in her plaited mane. "At least you got the chance to be a free horse, huh girl?" You looked deep into her beetle black eyes, seeing yourself reflected there. And something else too. She needed your help and whatever it was, you had a feeling it was Levi. In trouble. She had come for you after all.
She huffed and started snuffling at your wounds, licking them to try and atone for what she did. "It's fine Stella, I can wash them later, they're not that big. Now isn't the time," you said, hoisting yourself up onto her back, aware that there was no saddle, reins or stirrups to hold you. This would be one hell of a bumpy ride. Stella stood up and pawed at the ground for a moment and your mind lingered back to the time when Levi rode off with you and Stella, leaving you at the front of her so you could get the hang of what it was like to ride a horse. A wave of unease washed over you as you realised this was going to be one hell of a bumpy ride. "Who's your friend over there?" You asked nervously as the broad black stallion approached you and nuzzled your hand, trying to get used to the new and unfamiliar scent you carried. "You're a pretty one aren't you? Alright then, we're gonna need you too buddy. You can lead the way." He bowed his head and positioned himself in front you both. You exhaled roughly, trying to calm yourself down. "This is about Levi isn't it," you murmured to Stella. She craned her neck to look at you briefly and turned away, as if not being able to bear seeing the mate of her endangered master. Whatever it was, you were hoping a terrifying sight didn't meet you there. "Run!" You yelled and Fillipos took off in a gallop. You gripped Stellas plaited main, the plaits reminding you of him and how he loved to style her mane like that. It made you feel more secure as the headquarters grew quickly into view and they both picked up more speed. Panic jolted your insides around as they headed straight for the doors, panic at what punishment you'd recieve for rampaging through uncontrollably on horseback. At the same time you felt confident that this was completely right, that the black stallion and Stella knew exactly what they were doing. A screech echoed above and you snapped your head up. Your heart gave a sudden jolt of fear as the body of a torn and bloody wolf pierced brutally with an ODM blade dropped out the window to the ground below. You gave a sob of relief as you realised it wasn't Levi as the wolf's pelt shone jet black. Your heart was still frozen in your chest. What the hell was happening in there? You had barely gotten through the thought before all three of you hurtled for the entrance and you ducked down, scrunching up your eyelids and tightening the grip on her mane as you rammed through the door as if it were nothing.
