Levi POV:
I was lucky I survived that. Somehow I was jerked back into the situation and grappled for something to hold on to. My claws screeched on the tiles as I hurled myself up and crashed onto them, roof tiles and still some shattered glass raining down. My muscles screamed in protest. I didn't dare move or look down in that moment. I just held on and closed my eyes, inhaling slow, deep breaths in vain to calm myself down. A trickle of warm blood slid down the side of my face and I could feel the sting of the cuts in my body. The wounds would be fine, I was sure. There was more I had to deal with now, like getting down off the roof and finding the rogue werewolves.
When I got a grip on myself, a whinnying echoed down below. I averted my gaze reluctantly to the drop below. There was Stella, rearing up in distress. How did she know this was happening? Well, she was one clever horse. That had to mean there was panic in the stables now. "Stella don't panic," I yelled down to her. She paused and looked up at me, her black eyes finding mine like she understood. I didn't believe that could possibly be true. It would take some miracle to prove that. But then, perhaps she did.
Stella POV:
I looked up at my master, waiting for my orders like I would always do. "Find her," he was yelling. "Find (Y/N) and get her to safety. There are wolves coming this way. Hurry!" I knew vaguely from childhood descriptions about the appearance of wolves. Why here though?
"Please understand me! GO!" I snapped out of it and sprinted back to the stables. She had been there that morning, sneaking me an extra carrot because I knew she and my master were close and she was a kind girl. It wasn't just her I had to help. Everyone was going to need to be alerted somehow of the wolf attack. I had no idea why we even had wolves attacking but there was no time to think on that. The only thing I had time to think about was the fact that wolves could be just as deadly as titans. A wolf could also kill a man, I bore that in mind. This would be quite an interesting little battle for the Survey Corps.Levi POV:
I breathed as I watched her speed away. She understands, I thought, feeling a sense of deep gratitude towards my horse. The survey corps would surely be able to deal with a wolf attack but this was my battle and with it came the risk of my exposure to them all. I shook the last fragments of glass out of my fur and prowled the roof, trying to scent which way they were coming and whether I would have time to grab my ODM gear and vertical maneuvering, as I was already pretty injured at that moment. I could use a bit of a break with injuring my wolf body.
It happened all too quickly then. I heard a screech near me and the she wolf careened into me, then a stabbing pain as I felt her teeth embed themselves in my neck. I screeched myself and started trying to wrench her off with my own teeth, which took time as my head was almost completely stilled by her teeth. I chucked her off me before she could do any worse damage, by slamming my back, along with her into the floor in which she cried out in pain at for a moment, then reared up at me, snapping madly at my face and trying to back me against a wall so she could pin me down presumably, bite my neck and end me right then and there. Well I wasn't letting it happen. Even when she was the one who had caught me off guard.
I raked my claws down her belly as she left it exposed. Though it was quite hard to get them deep enough when she was snapping at my face so viciously and she stumbled back from the pain, snarling, which meant I had time to bring her down.
I bought my claws down across her face before she could recover and she yelped out and stumbled back further. Blood bubbled from the claw marks and matted her reddish brown fur, as well as staining my claws. I barked sharply at her and gave her another blow across her face. She lurched at me the second time with rage filled eyes and gave me a blow with sheathed claws but it was heavy enough to be able to knock me out even and I gasped as I hit the floor, stunned for a moment before I saw her leap at me, all claws and teeth exposed, hungry and finishing me off with a bite to the neck her one intention right now. Claws unsheathed, I swiped, giving her a blow to the stomach which sent her smashing into a pale brick wall which cracked a little under her weight. I gawked at her as she shook the dust of herself, still looking unharmed as ever. A dangerous smirk was plastered to her face. I contorted my face to snarl at her threateningly and I felt my fur rise with the rage. "Little bitch," I hissed at her. "What do you want here? Go home to your forest of rogue bastards before my fangs find your neck." Her smirk turned into a mocking grin and she threw back her head, howling with laughter. When she finished, she spoke to me quietly and directly, indicating threat. "Don't you get it, little wolf boy," she said sweetly. "The pack are ravaging the entire building for the traitor that owes us all. The one who went to live with humans rather than his own kind." She flicked her tail at me. "Looks like I've already found him though. Oh Levi, after long years of seeking you out and trying to bring you home to us, my how you've grown since the day you ran away to join the survey corps. And now you've betrayed us all, even become humanity's strongest soldier and still no one has ever found out what a monster you really are." Her eyes narrowed dangerously. "This is not where you belong. You are not a human, you are a wolf. Who gave you the right to run from us and join those pure blooded human filths?"
"I left of my own accord Misha, and you know exactly why," I told her slowly. Misha had been our pack beta at the time I had lived with the rogues. She now looked older than ever from when I loved alongside her, some of her brown reddish fur already turning grey. "I would say that leaving is punishable by death but we can make you a deal so you and your survey corps comrades can be spared," she snarled. "Leave with us and lives including yours will be untouched or stay with the humans and we will tear you and your soldiers apart. You don't have much time so decide now."I wouldn't let this happen. I stood my guard, hackles raised. "I endured having to kill in both the lives I lead but here I kill titans to serve humanity. We know who the real enemy is here. You...you just live in the shadows all your life, forgetting you're still part human. You don't care that there are people risking their lives for the sake of humanity." I stepped forward, so I felt Misha's breath on my face. "Your all cowards," I screeched, making her recoil at my words, as if they disgusted her. She looked utterly beaten and aged, fragile almost. I hoped those words would tear at her frail, cowardly heart and haunt her forever. "I see how it is," she said, deadly quiet, levelling her eyes to the ground and not wanting to look at my face, the face of a traitor. "You are a traitor to your own kind and there is no changing it."
There was no time to waste with her. I turned on heel and left, making my way nimbly down the roof. I wondered how many of them were still alive and whether they were fighting back against the wolf rogues. These wolves were more vicious and territorial than most and wouldn't back down even if somoene hurled a fire torch in their eyes.
My heart fluttered when I heard Erwin. He made a sort of battle cry you could say and at that, I slipped in through an open window into the chaos of man and wolf fighting. My eyes darted round and I saw all the struggling and fighting. Petra was slashing at the face of a she wolf with her blades. Most people were using them, which relieved me. As I turned a corner and found Erwins office I burst in through the door and was met with the sight of Erwin wrestling with a massive grey male wolf. I gawked at the size of him. They rolled around the room, blood already marring the walls and paperwork flying around and tearing. Erwin already was bleeding from head to toe, a massive cut visible on his leg. His face was contorted with the effort of holding the grey rogue down and he wasn't using any gear. He was much stronger than I thought. But he surely couldn't keep this up for longer. He'd lose too much blood. "Stop it, Erwin!" I screamed. "You'll kill yourself!" I saw it in his face that he recognised me, even as a wolf. My eyes seemed to always give it away. And I knew that he wasn't afraid of me. So I leapt, mustering all my hate and pain and letting out a guttural snarl at the rogue.
