MARE
"You little son of bitch!" Avery yells down the hallway.
I'm startled by her voice. Even though I shouldn't be, I just faced Samson's gory mind control so why would I be scared of her?
"I fucking hate you!" She pounces at me, but I dodge it before she can get close enough.
"For what?!"
"Cal is cancelling training for a week! Because of you! Are you that much of a whore to keep him all to yourself?!" Her voice echoes around the closed space, spit landing on my face as her eyes light up with the fire within her.
"I'm sorry Avery, I'm not your mirror. If I was, I would've broke years ago."
Her hands light up with a ball of fire.
Oh no, not again.
"You're- You're unbearable Mare Barrow."
"Tell me something I don't know."
"Okay, I'll give you this!"
She launches a ball of fire in my direction, barely missing my elbow. That's not what keeps me off track though.
"Guess what? Maven's on his way here. He knows that his uncle isn't dead."
I blink.
"What?" My teeth grit together, as she smirks.
"He knows we're here."
"But how?"
"Samson," she shrugs. "He took control of the guards. Better run now before you're stuck with him for another six months huh?"
Out of anger, I throw a bolt of lightning at her and watch as she comes in contact with the wall, groaning loudly.
I run as quick as my legs can carry me, forcing y lungs to keep up. There's a eerie silence creeping in the halls, something that's uncommon.
I bump into a hard chest, making me stumble a little.
"Mare? What's wrong?" Shade asks.
"Sam-Samson controlled one of the-" I take a breath, "the guards. Maven's on-on his way."
"What? Who told you this?"
"Av-Avery."
"What if she's lying?"
"But what if she's not? It's Samson and Maven, I'm not gonna take a chance on them. Where's Cal?"
"In the control room."
"Then let's go! He could be here any minute!"
Even thought I'm exhausted, I continue to run to the control room with Shade leading. Panic surges in my veins, the lights flickering as I pass.
I merely knock the door over, startling Cal and a few other reds in the room when I enter.
"Mare? You're supposed to be resting. Why are you out of breath?"
"It-It's," I catch my breath, "Samson. He-He took control of-of the guards, and Ma-Maven's on, on his way."
"Who told you this?"
"Avery."
"What if she's lying?"
I take a deep breath of patience, hating to have this conversation again.
"What if she's not? It's Samson and Maven. This was bound to happen but Farley didn't even take him to the council!"
"Hey, don't blame Farley," Shade butts in.
"I'll blame whoever the hell I want!" I pant again, looking for somewhere to sit.
BOOM
"Oh no."

Hey guys! I'm so sorry I haven't updated but I've been super busy. I went to Washington DC, which is in America, for about a week and I live in Toronto, ON, Canada. It was super fun though!
These past couple of weeks have been tough, my grades have been slipping so I've been trying to get them back up.
I'm also currently studying for finals which is in a couple of weeks so I'm so sorry. Freshman year of high school is important, and I don't want to blow this up.
So, if this update is kinda crappy, I know. I'm going back to edit some of them.
Thanks guys for being understanding!
