***Eric's POV***

"Do we know where Ms. Prior and Mr. Eaton are headed?" Jeanine snaps. She called a fucking late night meeting because she doesn't have the Stiff girl and Four yet. As much as it pisses me off, I keep reminding myself that as long as she isn't seeking Arielle, I really don't care.

"No, but we have multiple crews searching for them. We have reason to believe they are within the city limits." Max says, and I stay silent. I have no idea what's going on with the situation, and I don't really want to know. I don't want to be here, I just want to get home and see my girl and my baby.

"Eric, I expect you to send in some search parties for Beatrice and Tobias." Jeanine calls on me, and I just look at her. All eyes are on me, and I just shrug.

"Will do. I will send them out at 0700." I tell her, and she nods, resuming her talk with all the other people here. She just wants my squadron, nothing more.

Suddenly, a young kid runs in. He is in Dauntless black, with the blue strip on his arm. He has a rifle slung over his shoulder, and he looks very out of breath.

"What do you want, kid?" I snap, unwilling to drag this stupid-ass meeting on any longer.

"It's Arielle, sir. Her bodyguard sent me for you, she's in the hospital." The boy pants, and I'm out of my seat and running towards the hospital without another word.

The boy is somewhere behind me, but he won't catch me. My girl is in trouble, and nothing will stop me from reaching her, no matter how rough a patch we're in right now.

I make it to the hospital in less than five minutes, and when I get into the general lobby, I immediately see Uriah holding my crying baby girl in his arms.

"What the fuck happened?! I got you out of detainment to watch my girl, and she's in the fucking hospital?! You're a dead man as soon as my baby is out of your arms!" I yell at him, and my baby cries louder. I take her from him, and hold her close to my chest. Her cries soften, but she is still crying. "Start talking." I snap, and he gulps.

"She told me she was going to bed, and to watch the baby. I did that, and she told me that when Jenni started-"

"Jenni, what the fuck?! She is my daughter!" I spit at him, and his eyes flash in anger.

"And I'm her godfather!" He yells back, silencing my protests to his nickname for my daughter.

"Go on." I snap irritably.

"When the baby started crying, she told me to go get her, so I did that. I walked into the bedroom, and the bed was still freshly made, like no one had slept in it. I instantly started to worry, and ran to the bathroom where she was lying in the middle of the floor. I thought she had fallen asleep, but when I shook her, she wouldn't wake up. I called the hospital straight away, and when they were loading her on the gurney, I saw a pill bottle on the floor, with your name on it. She might've overdosed." Uriah assumes, and I shake my head vigorously.

"She wouldn't do that to her own daughter." I tell him. Or would she? No, no she wouldn't. I rush to the desk in the hospital lobby, where a nurse is sorting through papers. "Arielle Dalton." I demand straight away. She doesn't even look up to see who I am, and this pisses me off.

"Relation to Ms. Dalton?" She asks, boredom seeping from her tone.

"Boyfriend. Now let me see her. I won't ask again." I snap.

"Sir, if you are not directly-" The nurse begins stating why I can't see Arielle, but as soon as she sees who I am, her eyes widen in worry and shock, and she grabs a file, presumably Arielle's, and walks down the hall without another word.

I cradle Jenevieve in my arms, and her cries have now silenced. She is sleeping cosily in my arms.

"She is alive, and the doctor has said she should wake up soon." The nurse explains as she opens the door into the room.

"She didn't overdose?" I ask.

"We found no trace of any drugs in her system. She just fainted, that's all. She does have a bruise on her head from the fall, and likely a mild concussion, but nothing major." The nurse explains, and with a nod of my head, she leaves the room, in quite a hurry I might add.

I sit in the chair next to Arielle's hospital bed, and she doesn't stir at all, which bothers me immensely. Even in her sleep, she always moved in some way. Whether it be clutching my arm, torso, or neck, or even nuzzling into my body ever so gently, she always moved. I hate seeing her so still.

Her skin is paler than usual, making her look like a white sheet. Her skin is already so pale, being a redhead, and now that she is here in this hospital, she looks so white. The rich colour of her eyes balance out her face, and I miss them so much. The beautiful sapphires that always lit up my world are blocked by her eyelids, and before I can think any more, her eyelids begin to flutter.

She squints as her eyes adjust to the light, and I quickly get out of my chair to turn the lights off.

As soon as the lights are off, I take my seat again beside Arielle. She looks to me, and then sees our baby in my arms. She smiles softly.

"How is she?" She says hoarsely, and I look down to the sleeping baby in my arms.

"She's been sleeping for a little while. Uriah had her all freaked out."

"He was only trying to help, Eric. Stop being hard on him." She chastises, but I just roll my eyes.

"He doesn't get a claim on either of you, Arielle. You two are mine, and mine only." I tell her, and her eyes widen at my sudden determination and forwardness. Shit, maybe I went too far with that...

"Eric..." She croaks breathlessly, unsure of what to say.

"Save it. What happened? Why are you in here? I saw one of my pill bottles on the floor, did you take any?" I ask her quickly, eager to change the subject. She shakes her head quickly, not talking. "Then what happened Ari? Please baby, you scared me. I need to know what happened." I ask her, and I see the tears begin to pool in her eyes.

"The pills, Eric, the pills. I did this to you, and I can't fucking deal with it. I did this." She whimpers helplessly, the tears finally falling from her dark, clouded eyes.

"Did what, baby? You haven't done anything to-" I begin, but she seems almost irritated as she cuts me off.

"I've ruined you, Eric!" She shrieks, like it was supposed to be obvious for me to know what she is talking about. "I destroyed you single-handedly, and I didn't even look back! I'm a monster! No one should love me, no one should want me, all I do is hurt people." She sobs, burying her tear-streaked face in her hair and hands.

"Arielle, stop, I'm still here, and don't say that. Four, Uriah, Jen, we all love you. Don't think for a moment that we don't." I attempt to reassures her, but she only cries harder.

"You shouldn't love me, Eric."
