***Eric's POV***

Arielle has long since fallen asleep, but I cannot bring myself to sleep. Her body is as close as it can be to mine, with our baby in between us. My baby.

Arielle's curls are splayed out across the pillow behind her, and my fingers work their way through the loose knots. Arielle grabs my hair as much as she pleases when we are getting busy, but I would hate to touch hers and mess it up. She's so beautiful, and so not worthy of someone like me.

I am co-leading an army to murder a faction; where the hell did I go so wrong? How could I not see that I was falling into Max and Jeanine's trap? I know they have my sisters, but Jeanine only did that as a spur of the moment to get me on her side; the two of them were planning this long before, and yet I never saw it. God, I'm failing the woman I love, and yet she still decides to stick around.

Tomorrow, I will be locking Arielle here, so she doesn't have to be a part of the sim. I need to make sure she, and my baby, are safe. Jeanine and Max shouldn't realize she is missing, but I've been wrong before.

God, what would I do if she got shot tomorrow? What if she gets up before me, and goes to breakfast like normal? Oh my god, I don't think I could save her then, we are giving everyone the sim, or 'tracker' tomorrow morning, during breakfast. I couldn't ask Jeanine if the serum was safe for pregnant women, as that would have risen suspicions.

When my eye lids finally give up, all that is on my mind is Arielle and my baby, and every possible way I could protect them.

The next morning, I wake up in a cold bed. My eyes snap open, and I realize I'm alone. The bed hasn't been made, so she must have gone down to breakfast. Shit, shit, shit; this is exactly what wasn't supposed to happen! I pull on a pair of jeans and a jacket faster than the speed of light, as well as my combat boots, and I sprint down to the dining hall, which is to maximum capacity as we requested everyone be here this morning.

I look around for my redhead, but she is no where to be found. Where is she?! I run to Max and Corey, whom are in the corner of the hall talking amongst themselves quietly, likely regarding the sim today.

"Boys, have you seen Arielle? She wasn't in the apartment when I woke up a few minutes ago..." I trail off, frantically looking for her in the crowd.

"Yeah, looks like it..." Max mutters, looking at my hair. Corey looks up, and he chuckles when he sees.

"Looks like you had a good night, hey man?" Corey laughs, and I roll my eyes. I smooth down my hair with my fingers the best I can, but I still probably look like I was royally fucked last night; which is one hundred percent true.

"Have you guys seen her or not?" I ask them again, rather irritably.

"Haven't seen the little red. But she'll turn up man, we are giving the trackers in a few minutes, when you or Max gives the word." Corey says, but his words do little to my thoughts and emotions.

"This is the syringe. We all have one, here." Max says, and shoves the syringe in my palm.

"Okay, I'll head up top to make the announcement." I tell them, and take off towards the stairs next to the Dauntless kitchen, which lead up to the balcony above the dining hall; it is the place where we give major announcements.

"Attention!" I yell, and some people look up and see my serious expression, and within a few moments, the noise is cut down. "Everyone assemble in four lines, you are all getting a tracker, don't ask questions, it's just a precaution." I tell everyone. After a few moments, they begin assembling the lines. I see a few people out of place, but the only one that catches my eye is our first placing initiate this yea, the Stiff. I leave the balcony and weave my way through the crowd to her. She is also frantically searching around for something, or someone.
