(This chapter would've been so long if I used everything I wrote down in my notes today. (I write stories in my notes, then copy and paste them to wattpad))
:-Pau POV-:
I smiled as I got in the driver's seat. I waited for Tord to hop into the passenger seat, and once he did, I began driving. It was awfully quiet, and I knew Tord wasn't a fan of the music on the radio, so I decided to strike up a conversation,
"So, how was work?"
"It was good! I actually got tomorrow off."
"Oh, that's good." I smiled.
It was quiet again. I just began thinking. Thinking about what? How I was going to tell Tord. Tell Tord about how I felt. I had been feeling this way for a while now, and I figured it's about time I let the Norwegian know. I promised myself I would tell Tord at some point tonight, I just wasn't sure when. (Cliche I know)
"So... what's Pat been up to lately?" Tord said out of the blue.
"Oh- uh.. not much. He says that there aren't as many of your flyers as before." I answered.
"That's good. I'm assuming some people from this town let the authorities know I'm no longer missing."
I shrugged, "Most likely."
There was silence between us two again. The only noise was the whirring and humming of my car. It was actually rather soothing, but I remained concentrated. Getting distracted while driving is a dangerous thing.
I saw a familiar green sign, white numbers and words printed on it. The sign stood about six feet tall. It read 10 miles to **** city.
"We should be there soon, Tord." I said, keeping a faint smile on my face.
I noticed Tord look up at me, his non-genetic heterochromatic eyes shining off the moonlight. One eye completely white and one silvery-grey and white. (To be honest I'm not sure if it's even heterochromatic at that point, but eh.)
There was a slight silence before Tord quickly looked away, seeming a bit flustered,
"That's good." He said quickly.
'Is he okay..?' I thought, feeling a bit concerned for my housemate.
Not too long after that, through the trees the lights of the small city could be seen. I saw, from my peripheral vision, Tord look up, but he didn't seem too excited. It was a different kind of nervousness then earlier.
I got curious, "Everything alright Tord?"
He quickly looked over to me, and gave a soft smile, I swear my heart skipped a bit, even though I didn't see it too clearly, "Oh, uh.." He hesitated slightly, "Yeah."
'Odd...' I thought suspiciously, as my car entered the city.
:-Narrator POV-:
The two males saw as the buildings and houses came into view. Tord noticed as the car slowed down, they arrived at a small cafè next to a mini mall area. He looked in the parking lot, noticing there were quite a lot of people here for such a small place.
Pau found a parking spot, and began parking his car there. Once he put the car in park, and turned it off, his hazel eyes glanced over to Tord.
"You sure you want to go in?" Pau asked, concerned for the Norwegian.
Tord nodded, "Yeah, we came all this way." He chuckled slightly, though he sounded unsure.
"If you say so."
Then they got out of the car, and began heading inside. Pau grabbed the handle of the door and opened it, instead of walking inside, he held it open.
Tord gave him a curious look, Pau just nodded, earning a smile, and a light blush from Tord, "Thanks Pau." He walked inside.
"No problem-o." Pau smiled at his accomplishment of making Tord blush slightly and smile. 'Goals.' He thought childishly.
Pau walked in after Tord, feeling a wave of heat hit him like a brick. Or maybe just a really sudden pillow. Because, wow, a lot better then the cold temperatures outside.
Tord and Pau looked around the area for Pat, the two standing rather close. Suddenly, they saw a hand stick up, and start waving them over, "Hey! Tord, Pau!"
The two quickly looked over, "Hey, Pat!" The two said in unison. They looked at each other and laughed slightly while walking over to Pat.
Tord seated himself on one of the seats near the window. Pau took the chance to sit next to Tord.
The table was a tall table, supported by one pole in the middle, that was nailed down to the floor. The chairs were decently tall, and fit the table well.
"So, how've you been Pat?" Pau asked.
"I've been okay. A few struggles with my boss lately, but nothing too serious. You?" Pat answered.
"Oh, I've been chill. Just been hangin' with Tord, digging life and what not." Pau responded, purposely trashing his vocabulary.
Suddenly Tord started laughing, "Pau, your vocabulary is scaring me. It needs adjustments." He said playfully.
Pau put a hand to his chest, acting offended, "How dare you criticize my fabulous vocabulary!" He said in an exaggerated tone.
The three just started laughing.
"Wow, Pau. Impressive." Tord said sarcastically.
Pau smiled genuinely, feeling his cheeks heat up slightly. He was just admiring the horn-haired male sitting next to him in his thoughts.
"So... Tord how's life been ever since.. stuff happened?" Pat asked, cautiously avoiding being blunt.
"Pat, you don't have to be vague, it's fine. That was a month ago. And I've been okay. Slowly but surely getting over everything. Pau has really helped me out, without his support, I could only guess where I'd be right now." Tord explained, in all seriousness.
Pau felt that heartwarming feeling grow stronger with the 'compliment'. He knew at this point he was blushing, but Tord hadn't seem to notice, the other sitting across from them, he couldn't say the same for him.
Pat shot Pau a playful smirk and quickly looked over to Tord before he noticed, "Oh alright, I'm sure Pau is more then happy to hear that."
Tord smiled, "Heh," He only responded with that, then looked out the window quickly, as if hiding his face.
Pau huffed quietly, looking at Pat. Pat smirked at him, and gave him the look that said, 'I ship it.'
(I'm pretty sure I just turned a slightly angsty story into a comedy story. It won't last long my dudes-)
Pat nodded towards Tord, smirking, he started mumbling quiet, 'Eh, eh?'s to Pau.
Pau's face heated up more and he shot Pat a slight glare, trying to shush Pat.
Pat snickered quietly, but quickly acted normal again as Tord looked back to them.
"So, when did this place open?" Tord asked Pat.
"Like a week ago. It's been pretty popular, this is my first time here." He answered.
Tord nodded slowly in acknowledgment. Pat looked at Pau mischievously, like he had an idea.
"Hey, did you guys remember to lock your car?" Pat asked.
"Uh y-" Pau was cut off by Pat kicking him from under the table, giving a slight look that said 'play along'. "Actually, I don't think so."
"Why do you ask Pat?" Tord questioned.
"Crime rates have gone up a bit." Pat answered simply.
"Oh.. alright, I'll go check, Pau you have the keys?" Tord asked.
Pau nodded, he pulled out the keys from his pink hoodie pocket.
"Yeah," he handed them to Tord.
"Alright, thanks. Be back in a sec." He walked off, walking outside to check the car locks.
