Chapter 4

Catherine was laying down, she was trying to be as still as possible for the last couple hours. She fell asleep but was awake again and couldn't find any part of her to sleep.  Even if she moved a lot everything would start to hurt especially her head the medication wore off a while ago.

She hears the door slide open and lifts her head seeing Gwan come in. He looks at her nodding and walks to the bed where she had been laying down. He has a needle in his hand with a clear liquid and takes the IV inserting the liquid which Catherine guessed were painkillers. Once again like before the pain subsided nearly instantly making Catherine sit up with a large sigh.

"The medicine I gave you will last for at least a day. Come on, we're doing a lot today." She looks at him interested at what he said and slips out of the bed easier then before. Except she was dizzy when she got up, "do you guys have water?" She mumbles tiredly. Gwan nods, "yes we'll get some in a couple of minutes but for now I'm going to show you around the ship." She narrows her eyes questionably flicking her eyes between Gwan and the door, "really? Why?" To Catherine, possibly seeing a bunch of super intimidating humanoids wasn't at the top of her bucket list today.

Gwan shrugs, "because my Elder believes it will be good for you. One of my friends will show you around." He clicks something after he spoke Catherine didn't understand. The door opens up again with a very familiar humanoid, it was the guy she encountered in the hallway. The one with the deep blue eyes that seemed very different then the other humanoids she saw.

He though wasn't easing Catherine a lot, he looked really intimidating much more then Gwan for example. "Nightclaw this is-" he looked at Catherine as if he realized he didn't even know her name. "Catherine." She shyly said because of how intimidating that male was she though was trying to keep her cool which was working out.

The male- Nightclaw nods, "thank you Gwan, I'll show Catherine around" he looks at her his mandibles clicking. "Come on." She walked over to him following Nightclaw out the door. The first thing she realized was that there was a lot of humanoids near by, which made her heart speed up.

"Why are you fearful?" Nightclaw asks Catherine and she crosses her arms a little. "Well.." she mumbles, "your kind is a little intimidating" Nightclaw clicks his mandibles a few times looking down at her. "Yautja" he corrected so she narrowed her eyes, "what?"

"My kind, we are called Yautja. And do not worry no one here will try to hurt you." Nightclaw does end up reassuring Catherine with what he said. She looks around at the Yautja who many take glances at her. Nightclaw walks past them all easily Catherine was right behind him keeping her eyes in front of her.

Eventually, she got used to the Yautja looking at her, she'd also be curious to see a smaller life form then herself with such different features. Catherine noted how all the Yautja she'd seen so far were male, 'I wonder if there are no females in the species.' She had thought to herself then ruled out the idea by how stupid it sounded. Nightclaw then came to a stop making Catherine also, she recognized the room from where she first ran into Nightclaw.

"This is the mess hall" he explained. "We have our kitchen over there," he pointed to where a bunch of Yautja were lined up getting food. When they'd get the food they would go to the metal tables and sit down beginning to eat. Catherine nodded understanding and Nightclaw left the room going to where the other Yautja from earlier were healed.

"This is the Medical Bay, where everyone who is sick and injured is treated. But I think you knew that." He says and she nod as he looks down at her. The two go through a hallway with doors on each side, Nightclaw said everyone stayed in the rooms for at least six months then they went back to his home planet. Though he also said that they wouldn't be going back to his home planet, for it was riddled with disease. "We're going to go down to the lower levels have any questions though?"

Immediately, Catherine knew what to ask, "Yeah, I haven't seen any girls here. At all like are they even here?" She trailed off at the end of her question not sure what to say afterwards. "Yeah, we do have females but most of them don't hunt. They usually stay on the levels below working as researchers or other things." He said and she nodded slowly. "But we have a warrior female on this level you can meet, come I'll show you her."  Catherine nodded once more, she felt like meeting a female would be less intimidating then Nightclaw.

Time Skip

Freaking hell was Catherine wrong. Let's just say this female whom she thought would be smaller then Nightclaw was more muscular then him, and about a foot fucking taller. She couldn't keep her heart right down that female she guaranteed could've killed her with her bare hands. Her name was Paya and she was named after apparently the Goddess of the Yautja who's called Paya? She didn't know.

She was to Catherine's surprise really nice and introverted, she was nothing like she expected. "So Catherine how do you perceive the ship as so far?" Paya wonders as she was sitting next to Catherine at a small table in her small home. "It's been alright I guess" she started off with a more quiet voice. "Though I guess some of the alie- Yautja's here are nice" she shrugged at the end. Paya nods looking from Catherine to Nightclaw then back, "that's good, you seem to be settling in well."

The three talked more for about the next hour, Catherine had been getting a tiny bit more comfortable around them. But not all the way they were aliens from like another galaxy. And apparently she needs to save their kind? Definitely a lot to take in at once it seemed for her. Though, eventually Catherine and Nightclaw needed to say goodbye to Paya and left her home returning to the hallways.

Once they did go out Catherine asked, "why is it so hot out here?" It was actually very hot in the ship in Catherine's 'room' it was nice and cool, here it was like being in the dessert. "Hot? Ahhh I get what you mean. You see, the planet we live on is very hot in temperature we like it as that on our ship. Though you oomans prefer more cooler atmospheres yes?" She nods in response to what he said. "You'll get used to it soon" the large male said then went in front of her and walked to what she guessed was an elevator.

"Now, our ship is huge it contains most of our entire clan. We could only bring the healthiest with us when we left our home planet. We-" She looks up at him, "your clan? How large if your clan? Are there more clans out there?" She knew she interrupted him but what he said really caught her attention. Did he mean there were more clans? More... Yautja?

He sighs; "very large. And yes there are many other clans out there. We have all been tracking the creature who would save our species and that's you. When we found your location others had came too but we were able to bring you to our ship." Well that explained the other Yautja who first broke into her house and took her. And his clan came after and brought Catherine here.

He didn't say anything else regarding the subject and took her down the elevator.
