Catherine's POV
She uncomfortably sat up in her bed, feeling sharp pains in her stomach. "I hate this medication." She muttered rubbing her face and stood up. Currently Catherine was in her room back on the mothership, they told her she couldn't leave. No say for her.
On top of that Gwan wanted her scratches to heal better and faster. So he used this cream that would kill all bad bacteria while mending it slowly together. It would also sting and sometimes make it feel like a fire set on her skin.
She grunted, running a hand through her now thoroughly tatted hair. She knew for a fact that a bath was certainly in order. Though that was against Gwan's word so that definitely wouldn't be happening any time soon.
For her knee she had a brace to keep her knee cap in place which was super tight. She ignored the feeling and wandered the room... what was there to do? Yautja certainly didn't have good ideas of 'fun'. Well hunting and training didn't sound like entertaining things for her.
Though they did have books, thank god they had books. Bhu'ja whom liked reading had translated the books to English so she could be able to read them. Most of them were on rules, rights for Yautja, hunting codes, and history of the clans. But they did have religious stories similar to the Bible had depicted Paya and Cetanu, large symbols of their religion.
Interestingly enough on their home planets, Yautja had churches and sacred sights for these 'gods' and 'goddesses'. Catherine picked up one of their lore books and plopped back down on the bed, opening up. Well their books were electronic. She flicked through the pages coming to a passage named- "The Battle for Idosh."
Curious, she read some of the paragraphs. It basically said that two of the ancient clans- Xenokaidatienda and Gurhitalan were at war for the capital of Yautja Prime, Idosh. The two clan leaders were two males, whom names she couldn't come close to pronouncing for the life of her, had a march at some sacred hill. They both went to war- supposedly the Xeno clan was lead by the guardian Payashidah whom was Paya. The Gur clan was lead by the guardian Cetanu who was well- Cetanu.
The two clans started battling, it was a very descriptive battle making her skip a few lines. After days of endless fighting, Xenokaidatienda began to fall to Gurhitlan. At his dying clan the Xeno guy prayed to Paya for her help in this battle, and from the starts she came. Decked out in battle armour- she took on the Gurh clan, slaughtering their ranks easily. And that basically was the end. Xenokaidatienda took their place as leaders and created the Yautja honour code and so on.
That was just one of the stories that she had read they all were interesting and intrigued her. After about half an hour of reading she shut the book off and put it on the night table next to the bed. She looks up the door sliding open which lets Gwan in.
He had an IV and blood bag in his hand. She tightened her jaw but sat up against the bed board, knowing that he needed her blood. He came up next to her without sparring a glance and hooked up the IV and blood bag and put the needle into her wrist. She exhales watching as he turned to leave but she spoke making him pause.
"Any say on when my leg will be getting better?" Gwan turned to her and shrugs, he probably wasn't bothered that she currently wasn't mobile. Catherine waited for an answer from the currently silent Yautja. "I'm not sure- I'll come in and do a physical later today." He leaves quickly and shuts the door behind him.
Catherine huffed, she hated being left alone with no one to talk to. Which was ironic because she was usually the loner in school who would've preferred being left alone then anything. But now she liked having someone to talk to which was her small group of hunter 'friends'. Though so far no one had came in to talk to her not even NightClaw which was fairly surprising.
