'example' - thoughts
"example" - dialogueWe were driving, down the deserted roads which were dimly lit. I look at my hands occasionally glancing at the boy to my left. He had brown hair, short and looking slightly messy. As well as that he had matching hazel eyes which complimented everything about him. Currently though he was clutching the steering wheel so hard his knuckles had turned white which only made me look down more.
"I'm sorry Kye." I mumble in order to break the uncomfortable silence that had become too much for me to handle now. I look at him as he doesn't take his eye off the road but doesn't respond.
Guilt washes over me when he didn't talk to me, "I know it was a bad decision I just-"
"It's ok Catherine I forgave you a long time ago." Shocked, I snap my head at him with confusion as I was going to say something but didn't know what to say. "What do you mean Kye?" I use the nickname that I had used since I was little because I couldn't pronounce Kyle correctly.
He shrugs and turns to me with silence filling the car. I glance at the road to see a car passing through the red light and widen my eyes. "KYLE! LOOK OUT!" I screamed and cover my eyes as the car made contact with the other one.
Though no pain ever came only a numb feeling, darkness enveloped everything around me. I look around wildly with a racing heart for any signs of my brother.
"I forgave you six years ago for going to that party."
Suddenly I spin around to see myself in the yard of my childhood home. I looked at Kyle as he looked down at me and smiled, grabbing my hand and comfortably rubbed his thumb over my wrist. "I wish I never went to that party." I whisper as I turn fully to my brother. "You could've had such a successful career, a family. But I stopped it, I ended your life and I can't..."
Kyle pulls me into a hug as I had started to cry he rubs my back to try and calm me down. "It's ok you couldn't of done anything to change it. Don't blame yourself for this."
I tried to believe it myself from what he told me but couldn't. It was unbelievable of how hard I tried to say that it wasn't my fault he died but I hadn't convinced myself of it for seven straight years now. He continued to give me reassuring words and eventually my crying had diminished to soft sniffling but he kept hugging me.
"I love you so much Kye." I mumble into his shoulder as he smiled a little bit and kissed my forehead. "You are the best baby sister anyone could've asked for." He releases me from his hug as we both looked at each other in silence.
"It's time to get up now Catherine, you'll be ok." I narrow my eyes and shake my head grabbing his arm when he began to turn. "I don't want you to leave Kye." I softly say.
He gave me a sad smile "you'll never forget me and I'll come and visit you again. You have my picture." He reminded me and I smile back and we both hug once more.
~ End of Dream ~
My eyelids flashed open fluttering in the bright light a couple times as I adjusted to the lighting. I was able to see wooden walls around me and felt a very comfortable bed beneath me. I lean up in the bed having a full memory of what happened before he last time I was awake and felt alarm.
Firstly where am I? Who took me here? Were they friendly or not? And what did they want? More questions filtered through my mind but these ones stood out the most. With that, I look down at myself almost immediately noticing I was wearing something else. Who changed me?
I grumble under a heavy sigh and rub my temples and try to become more awake. I take the fur blankets off of me and sit up and gently move my legs over the edge of the bed. Firstly, I noticed a white bandage wrapped over my stomach and remembered what happened when I had fallen down the hill.
'Okay, I'm still pretty cautious though.' I think to myself as I stand up but my right knee starts aching. I immediately sit back on the bed and grit my teeth at the burning pain. I slowly bent my leg and heard and felt a click in my leg and narrow my eyes. I instantly knew what happened too. I tore a ligament.
How I had known so easily was because when I was around fourteen or thirteen a kid in my class had kicked the back of my knee. For the next few days I had heard clicking whenever I bent my knee and it would really hurt, that's when I found out I tore a ligament.
I inwardly groan and stand up but entirely favour my left leg and limp to the door. I open it slowly to see a room with wooden walls, it was seemingly a living room. Accompanied with a few chairs, couch and fireplace. This place just seemed to be a hut and I noticed some fabric draping over a doorway and could see it was daytime outside currently.
Though I heard some footsteps so immediately shut the door and rush to the bed. I laid down and faced the opposite direction just as I could hear the door open up. For a few moments there was silence and I clench my jaw and even out my breathing in and out.
"I know your awake." A deep voice grunts but I don't move trying to convince whomever it was that I was sleeping. The male flicked the side of my bed and I spin to face who it was.
The male had broad shoulders with short dreadlocks and vibrant green eyes. Wait- the photo! This is the guy from the photo! I widen my eyes seeing him though he seemed very casual about it. "The least you could've done was be more quiet, I could hear you from the other side of the room." The male explains in English as he steps back slightly and straightens himself up.
I lean against the wall of the bed as I look at the Yautja male who was going to the other side of the room. He got a crystal shard looking thing from the cupboard as well with a bandage and deep blue liquid. "What is that?" Was my immediate question as he comes to the bedside and puts the other things down other then the shard.
"They encourage the healing process to take less time." The Yautja explained as he lays my arm but I pull back straight away.
There was no way I was going to let some stranger put some weird shard thing in my arm! He puts the shard down on the table next to the bed slowly while keeping an eye on me. "Don't try to stand up. Your leg already is messed up." He growls softly and leaves the room with a click of the door locking.
I wait for a good five minutes then slowly stand up, favouring my left leg. Glancing around the room I could see a window which had no glass in it. Pausing for a few more seconds I walk to the window and tried to reach the sill but couldn't. Sighing, I look around seeing a chair at a desk and grab the chair bringing it to beside the window.
That followed by me climbing up the chair and looked out the window. The window was only a few feet above the ground as I squeezed out and dropped to the ground. I slowly get up crouching down as I listen for anything. Hoping that nothing bad had heard that I quickly but quietly made my way into the jungle, I needed to get back to the mothership.
As I was moving, the wound on my stomach began to badly burn and I had to pause multiple times. My leg also hurt like hell every time I put the slightest weight on it which really sucked.
It took literally forever but it seemed to be getting dark and I was only getting more and more lost. I sigh heavily and lean against a tree, evening out my breathing slowly. I was really freaked out to be here just because of what I didn't know was out here, i knew I wouldn't sleep at all tonight.
So I look at the tree I was next to and noticed the large roots seemed to open up slightly to a hollow. I narrow my eyes and grab a large stick and throw it down the hole to see if anything lived down there. No response.
Taking in a breath I crawled inside to find a smallish hollow but I could move around kind of. I crawl to the back trying to ignore any bugs which may be here and lay down, very tense.
For a few minutes I was completely frozen and silent too scared to move as if someone would hear it and show up. 'Damn it I need to find the mothership.' I thought miserably as the sky darkened leaving me alone in a strange jungle.
I rewrote this chapter legitimately four times just to get a result I was comfortable with. So we know about her older brother which I hoped you guys liked at the very least. Also, I may take a bit to update only because I'm not in a 'creative' writing mood currently.
