"OMG!! You are here finally!! Do you know how much we missed you? Anyways, please come in." Anya said cheerfully to the person at the door and stepped aside to let her in.
Apparently God was too busy to accept Shanaya's prayer because it was none other than Betty who entered their room. As always, she was dressed perfectly, carried herself with a charming attitude. She was beautiful, and her calculative and manipulating brain made it much more dangerous.
Initially, Shanaya kept her conversation clipped but given the charming character of Betty's, she loosened up. For a moment, even she believed that Betty was as innocent as she appeared.
Finally, after spending a night with them Betty took her leave and Shanaya sighed in relief and hoped that rest everything will go normally.
And it did.
Her friends were expecting to meet her uncle but were disappointed that he won't be picking her up and that Shanaya will be meeting him at metro station. Wishing her best, they saw her off.
Shanaya, on the other hand, was ecstatic at the thought of seeing Rudra again. She still couldn't believe that he was actually coming down for her. Whatever every other person had commented about her relationship with Rudra vanished into thin air. Not that it mattered to her, but such things coming from people like her mom, sister and once her "know it all" roommate did hurt her. She was not good with judging an individual's true character and that made her doubt herself. With Rudra, she took her chances, held on to him.
And now...
Now her happiness was uncontrollable, her heart didn't know how not to burst with excitement and joy. She couldn't understand what she would do on seeing him after so many months. It was like ages.
She was just boarding the train to the pick up point of the trip organized which was also their meeting point, she got a call.
A call from Rudra's childhood best friend, Vivan.
Vivan had become a good friend of hers as well. And they were in constant touch on calls, though they had never seen each other ever.
Shanaya had not expected this call at this moment but it gave her a feeling that it was not coincidental. She picked the call after boarding her train.
"Hey Vivan! It has been so long. How are you doing?" She asked cheerfully.
"Aha!! Someone is in quite happy mood. You are literally chirping. What is the reason behind it?" He chuckled.
Her heart stopped for a second. Her sixth sense was alerting her. A part of her brain said that he knew about the trip. But she couldn't believe it. Rudra himself had asked her to keep it a secret. He wouldn't risk it himself. Especially when Vivan was distantly related to his mother side as well. She shook the bad feeling forming at the pit of her stomach.
No, it couldn't be...
"Nothing, just like that. I am talking to you after such a long time. I thought you forgot me." She tried to keep it as normal as possible.
"Nah!! Looks like you are outside. Are you going somewhere or with someone which is making you this chirpy?"
He knew it!!
But that was not possible!
Rudra won't do something like that.
And why not? He never liked you two being friendly. Vivan had mentioned it to you a couple of times and had also asked him not to talk to you. Her inner voice reminded her.
Still, she could not believe her own inner voice and ignored it.
"I am going to buy some stationary with my roommate. That is all." Shanaya used her all confident voice.
