Part 24

"O my God!! You came already?"

"How was it?"

"We missed you."

As soon as Shanaya entered her hostel room, she was engulfed by her three roommates and now friends.

"We want to know everything.. How were they all? Did everything go well? Did you enjoy?"

"Are you feeling better now?"

Anya, Panjel and Paige bombarded her with so many questions...

"Oh come on girls, let her settle down first. She looks like she didn't sleep for nights. Am I right Shanaya?"

Shanaya was a little taken aback. She had not noticed the fourth person yet.

Betty!!

What in the world was she doing here? And why were they even allowed in the hostel? The passed out seniors...

Shanaya felt all her good mood go out of the window.

Betty was among the people about whom she couldn't speak openly. Apparently she had made fans among her newly found friends.

So she digested her distaste and smiled sweetly.

"Thanks for your concern but I am totally fine. Please don't worry."

"Oh we were so excited to see you that we forgot to tell you that she came last night. How thoughtful of her.. Is it not?"

Paige said releasing her from her embrace. And the rest took her luggage to keep it in its place.

"I would like to get admitted in your college next.." Shanaya said to Betty as if seriously considering the thought.

"Really? Why so?" Betty raised an eyebrow in suspicion.

"Looks like they don't teach much or you guys don't have much classes since you are always so thoughtful and available." Shanaya said with extra sugar.

"Oh, they do have dear. She is leaving in a couple of hours." Paige said innocently.

Well it was a good news then.

"Come let's have breakfast now. We brought it in the room today, knowing that you might get late."

"You guys continue and I will leave now. Need to see my boyfriend." Betty said suddenly.

They all looked at her questioningly but bid their byes.

Once they settled on their table with food, they started catching up with each other .

"You won't believe what has happened when you were gone." Anya asked while eating. Shanaya raised an eyebrow in response.

"One of our Biology stream teachers, Miss Kirk, suggested us that we should not be in company of a bad girl. It will "spoil us". You know she practically quoted, " Anya used her two fingers to show the gesture, "A spoiled apple spoils the whole bunch."

"Miss Kirk?" Shanaya asked a bit confused. But why would she do that?

"Yes. See this is what you get for doing someone a favor without asking." Anya commented.

Shanaya sighed but said nothing. She knew what exactly she was referring to but the rest of two, Paige and Panjel were unaware of it and raised a questioning eyebrow.

Anaya answered on behalf of Shanaya,  "When Miss Kirk was called for teaching demonstration and interview, along with HOD, a couple of Professors and a few students from our class were also there. Most of students were against her butbitbwas Shanaya who supported her saying that she was knowledgeable, totally ignoring her lack of experience. And you all know what effect she has on our HOD. She also said that just because she didn't had experience doesn't mean she can't teach. And now see what she is doing."
