*Emma Johnson*
Its 2019, nothing has changed The people, the way we communicate, and the government. Nothing. I thought only humans ran amongst the Earth. How selfish of me.My name is Emma Vee Johnson. I'm a twelfth grader at Loyola High School, California. My childhood friend, Dominic, lives right across the street from me. He has been there for me from the time I cut my hair to the time these weird things started happening to me. When I mean by weird things involve spacing out, my eyes turning blue, and when I touch someone I show them memories of what had happened to put me in that empty space state. The first one happened when my dad was drunk and he hit me and my mother. I ran across the street crying and all of a sudden I froze. Thankfully Dominic saw me through his window and ran to push me out of the way of a moving truck. But that's not what you came to hear, now is it?
It was just a normal schpoldl day, kids screaming with laughter and lockers slamming shut I slithered through the crowd keeping my head low. Dominic kept his distance but I could always feel his gaze locked onto me. Rumors will start again if he got too close. Biology was my least favorite subject, but I'd rather me there then in these musky halls. A group of kids formed around the window. I guess another fight or someone is being picked on again. I move faster and my body slammed into a warm solid chest.
"I'm so sorry."
My gaze shifted up. Of course I ran into Dominic's arch enemy.
"Just make sure you watch where you're going."Lucas said in a harsh tone. He shoved past me and walked towards Dominic. I kept walking and ran to the seat in the back of class. How could I have biped into Lucas? My phone vibrated in my lap.
Dominic: did he hurt u?
Me: no
Dominic: r u lying to me?
Me: no
Dominic: c u after class
What is going on between those two? Are they both trying to win the most dumbest contest or something? Whatever, its not any of my business. I will gladly like to slap them in the head and call them idiots. Apparently, this is family issues so I'm not going anywhere near it. I grabbed a pieceof paper and put it in my lap. Dominic strictly said if I freeze then to write everything down on a piece of paper.
"Students, please take out your textbooks and turned to page 557."
The professor says as he writes on the white board. I reached down to grab the ginormous book and the intercom sounds off.
"Will Emma Johnson report to the front office. Emma Johnson report to the front office."
Heavy eyes glared at me. I packed everything back up and heaved my bookbag on my shoulders. Their gazes followed as I left the class. Once I was released from their unholy stares I let out a sigh of relief. Jeez, I've never seen so many people have such seriousness on their faces. Im walking next to the bathrooms when a hand drapes over my mouth and eyes. A muffled scream escaped his hands as he dragged me.
"Emma calm down, its Dominic."
He uncovered my eyes and his brown eyes bared into my hazel eyes. Water clouded my vision.
"Im sorry. I had to stop you."
I didn't answer and I knew I was frozen again. He grabbed my hand and placed it on his cheek.
"Im sorry I scared you.
He pulled me in a hug.
"Where are we?"
