Chapter 2: The lighting king

   "You mean to tell me you are breaking up with me!" I popped open one eye. James was in the kitchen pacing back and forth and there is six empty wine bottles on the couch.

   "You know what Evaline! We are over!" James slammed the phone on the counter breaking it into a million pieces. I fully sat up and rubbed my eyes.

   "James? What is going on?"

   "Im sorry I didn't mean to wake you."

   "Its alright I needed to wake up anyway. Hey after Im done using the bathroom, do you want to talk about it?"

   "I could really use that." I limped to the bathroom and stared at myself in the mirror. I had purple under my eyes, but how I had just slept for about two or three hours. I turned on the hot water and splashed my face about a thousand times. I looked up and the purple spots were gone but eyes arent hazel anymore. They were royal blue. I bolted out the bathroom. Why are my eyes blue now. Im not frozen in place. I walked to the kitchen and looked around frantically.

   "James? Where are you?" he was nowhere in site. I looked around for a cell phone. One was sitting on the floor, so I picked it up and dialed Lucas' number.

   "Hello?" Lucas said

   "Lucas. We have a problem."

   "What's wrong?!"

   "I can't find James and him and his girlfriend just broke up."

   "Get out the house! Now!"  I turned around and James was standing right behind me.

   "J...James?" I took a step backwards. His eye were pitch black and an evil grin was stamped on his face.

   "Hello Vee." he snickered

   "H...h..how do you know my middle name?" I took another step and he grabbed me by my throat.

   "I know all about you sweetheart." his eyes starred to turn a dark red. He grabbed the phone which Lucas was screaming into for the passed minute.

   "Ah dear old Lucas if you want her back you are going to have to save her first." he hung up the phone and threw me to the floor.

   "James please!" he kicked me in gut and laughed. Suddenly the front door burst open and a black wolf rounds the corner.

   "That was quicker than I imagined," James looks at his watch "and where are the other two?" soon enough Dim and Sabrina dash around the corner.

   "Emma!" Sabrina tried to get me but James grabbed me by the hair.

   "Not so fast. Bow tell the mut to sit." the animal growled.

   "Lucas! Think about Emma. She is in danger." Dominic yelled. The animal sat down. James growled and dropped me. When he did the wolf charged and knocked him against the wall.

   "Good job Lucas now keep him there." Dominic and Sabrina rushed toward me.

   "She is hyperventilating.  Sooner or later she is going to pass out." Sabrina said as she checked my pulse.

   "Put her on the couch make sure she doesn't die. Ill take care of Lucas." Dominic soothed talked to Lucas and made him calm down.

   "Emma, breathe. Everything is ok." I blink but don't choke out a response.

   "Dominic!" she shook my arm.

   "Let her pass out that gives us more time to come up with a lie." he said while holding back the now normal Lucas.

   "Snap out of it!" Sabrina slapped James across the face. Their faces became blurry and I was lost in my dreams.

Early in the morning my head throbbed as I lifted my head off the pillow. The house was pitch black and the only light was from the full moon. The memories flashed through my head like miniature films. I frantically looked around trying to find an escape. These people are crazy. James' eyes had turned black then red and Lucas turned into a five foot wolf. A loud sigh filled the air and I jumped. Sitting on the ground was a big black wolf. I quietly get off the couch and creep around its tail. Holding my breath I walked around the corner and unlocked the door. I swung it open and ran down the driveway. Where was I goignt o run? I had no idea where I am. A twig snapped behind me. I turned around and Lucas stood there with seriousness covering the hit of worry in his eyes.

   "Emma, what are you doing?"

   "What are you?! What is James?! Why me?!?" I cried

   "I can explain, if you come with me back into the house. We arent going to hurt you."

   "You will explain everything?"

   "Yes." he crossed his heart with his finger. I nodded my head and started walking back toward the house. I sat on the couch and stared at my fingers while Lucas made coffee.

   "To answer your first question, Im a werewolf. James on the other hand is a Greek God's son."

   "Hades? I mean James' dad is Hades."

   "Correct."

   "What about Dominic and Sabrina?"

   "Dominic's dad is Zeus and his mom is Circe. Sabrina's parents are Poseidon and Aphrodite."

   "W...w..what about me?" I said with a knot in my throat. I was hoping that I Wasnt related to the evil man I called my father.

   "Your mother is Venus the goddess of love and your dad is the one you have now." a tear slipped off my bottom eyelashes.

   "I thought you would be happy that you found out that those are your actual parents." he said pulling me into a hug.

   "My dad is a drug and alcohol addict. Everytime he gets angry he hits my mom and I." I wiped the snot from my nose.

   "Im sorry to hear that." I continued to sob in his chest not giving a care in the world that I was living in the house with a bunch of Gods.

   "Everything will be ok. We are all here to protect you and your mother."

   "Please don't let him hurt her."

   "I promise. Now go to sleep." I wrapped my arms ground his torso and laid my head in the crook of his neck. He laid on his back and rested his head on mine.
