Chapter 15: Bad Idea

I woke up with no sudden alarm or alert of danger but a nice and relaxing one. I unfolded Lucas' arms and crept to the bathroom. My hair was all messed up and I had bags under my hazel eyes. I slipped off my clothes and climb into the shower. I sighed as the warm water hugged my body and the steam rose from the tub. After humming in the shower for about twenty minutes I climbed out and find Lucas brushing his teeth.

"Morning." I smiled as I kissed his cheek. He attempted to say goodmorning but it came out as a mumble. I walk to the closet and pulled out a white t-shirt and black shorts. Strong hands grip my hips and spins me around after I pulled on my tennis shoes.

"You stay alive and healthy on this mission. We are tied together and whatever you feel I feel and vise versa. Do not do anything reckless that can cost your life." Lucas stared at me with harsh and determined eyes.

"I'll try to." It came as a mere whisper but I know he heard me.

"If John gets anywhere near you you run. He can't have you" Before I could respond he pulled me into his embrace and trapped me between his chest and his arms. I nodded and held him closer to my body, if that was even possible. My stomach growled causing both Lucas and me to chuckle.

"Let's go give you something to eat." he hoisted me onto his back and carried me down the stairs.

"I have legs you know."

"Yea but you'e slow." I smacked his arm and he pretends to whimper in pain. When we reach the bottom of the stairs we were embraced by the smell of pancakes. Dominic and Violet were cooking while the others are nowhere in site.

"What's cooking?" I hopped off Lucas' back and sat on the stool closer to two.

"Food, more specifically, pancakes and waffles." Violet called and pecked Dominic on the cheek before she went to the basement. I shoot Dominic a questionable look as Lucas takes a seat next to me.

"After you stormed off last night Violet and I ran into each other in the hallway, and it was so hard not to touch her so I just told her everything and she seemed to take it well. So we are starting off slow." I smiled and gave him a tiny hug.

"I totally ship you guys." Lucas pulled me back into his lap and hugged my waist as if showing that I belong to him.

"Thanks. Oh and speaking of which, why did you storm off?" Lucas growled at the mention of it and Dominic glared at him.

"What is your problem!" Dominic yelled making Lucas gently placed me in the chair next to him and stand up.

"You are my problem!" I stood in between the heated boys and tried to push them away. Violet came rushing in and held Dominic by the shoulders.

"Stop Lucas please." I begged as held onto him. His chest rose heavily and I could sense that if he didn't calm down soon Luke will come out. I pushed him outside while Violet was trying to calm down Dominic. Lucas continued to breathe heavily when I slammed the slide door.

"Lucas calm down."

"Move Emma." is voice was deeper and it sounded more animalistic.

"Luke please. Just calm down and we can talk about it." Tears began to sting my eyes. His eyes went foggy and immediately went back to normal.

"Ok talk." his voice was still gruff. I took a deep breath and calm down myself.

"Why are you getting so upset? What am I doing wrong?"

"Don't you see what you do to me? You hugged him and that started the fire and then he dares to ask about something that really upsets you."
