"Life is good isn't it?"
I peered over across the blanket. I nodded. "It is huh,"
Yato looks across the blanket. I smile and reach to hold his hand. My hand firmly pulls his before we look back up.
He looks at the clouds and chuckles to himself.
"What's so funny?" I ask him as he laughs.
"I just had a funny thought."
That's not unusual. We were to be wed in less than a week and all he does is watch clouds and sleep. Does he not care?
"Hey Yori. My thought was something along the lines of... hmm... ah! Farther adulthood."
What's that supposed to mean? The way he says farther makes it seem scary. I felt a little guilty since I didn't contribute to the topic.
"You mind telling me why we're always cloud watching?"
"You'd rather go star gazing?"
I stopped. Stars were better than clouds after all. You couldn't even name a cloud. They'd just fade away. What's the point?
I nervously smiled and averted my gaze from his. Yato touched my shoulder and chuckled again. I shivered.
"What?"
"Why do you seem so out of it today?" he asks me which makes me puzzled.
I look away shyly. Averting my eyes yet again.
"Is it what we discussed yesterday? Are you still startled by that?"
I kept purposely turning away. I wasn't ready yet. Not anyways.
"All I said was wouldn't it be nice to start a family? You never replied. I assumed you were thinking."
"I-I'm not exactly r-ready." I stuttered. "I mean we already have Yukine, so our family kinda exists already,"
"I know, but we both have the say so much as Yuki has the opinion in the matter. We're the adults. He's just a teen anyhow."
I nodded.
"Now," he said.
I watched as Yato unfolded his arms and snaked his way across to me. He towered above me, giving me a shadow from the afternoon sun. His face lowered to mine and he kissed me briefly. I watched as he pulled away and went back up.
"Wanna go here later to stargaze like I promised?" he asked.
"Yeah."
He stood up and then lifted me up. At the same time, he whispered in my ear. "We also need to get a baby in that belly," he said gesturing to my flat stomach.
I felt my face grow hot, and it wasn't from the sun's radiating heat. I stood back embarrassed and moved him away. I hadn't realized I was scowling in front of him as he joked with me.
"Why are you so eager to get me pregnant anyway!" I defended.
He only smirked his charming smile and hugged me again.
"Oh Yori, my beautiful bride to be. If only you understood a wanna be dad's plea,"
"Oh don't give me that!"
And just like that, I knew my choice was clear. I was going stargazing.
I smiled at the clouds.
"If that's your wish," I said to him holding out my hand. "Then that's gonna be 5 yen. Ring a bell?"
He laughed and held me close. His skin was warm and for once he didn't smell like sweat.
"Smells nice," I said deepening the aroma I got from his body. I smiled into the warmth of his jacket. He held me close and kissed my head.
"So do you."
Then he paused.
"When we gonna make that baby?" he asked without clear consent.
"Yato!" I shouted as he ran down the hill. "We need to discuss this properly!"
In his mind I knew he just wanted to bless a name onto it. Should I let him?
