When the fight was over, the Phantom transformed back into its soul state.

I approached the lost spirit and held it in my hands. It felt cold and lifeless, not like a soul should be. This one experienced hardship in its last life. It felt the need to get revenge. Luckily, we were able to remove its murderous intent.

"It's not warm," I told Sei.

Sei cocked his head towards me as he examined the soul.

"It's smaller too. What do you want to do with it?"

It was a split decision, but within the minute I touched that soul, I could feel its pain. All the abuse that it went through.

"I'm going to save it." I answer.

Sei watches me hold the ball of light close to me.

"It's okay. I'm here to help," I whisper to the soul. "My name is Lionel; God of Winter. You are lost and wayward. I am here to guide you to salvation. I call upon you, 'Hyō'!"

The ball of light glows and shoots into the air. It swirls in the snowy night sky and explodes. What comes down from the sky is beyond my powers.

A small spirit clothed in white lays down across the snow. His body is slightly tanned, but beyond that he looks malnourished and sick.

"Let's get him back to the shrine," I tell Sei.

Sei helps me carry him back, and when we reach the house, we set him on the couch.

"Get him water,"

Sei runs to the kitchen to tend to our newest member. He groans on the couch as Sei approaches him with the glass.

"Here,"

I nod at Sei and he backs up momentarily.

"So what did you name him?" Sei asks.

"This is Kiyoshi. We don't know what kind of regalia he will be yet, but at least we saved him from corruption."

"Kiyoshi. Huh, it's got a nice ring to it." Sei chuckles from around the corner.

Within the hour, Kiyoshi coughs and wakes up.

"W-Where am I?" he stutters.

His light hazel eyes wander around the room until they stop at Sei. He tilts his head and watches Sei move around the room.

"Hmm?"

Kiyoshi's focus drifts across the living room until he sees the fireplace.

"Are you cold?" Sei asks.

"C-Cold? Yes. Very."

Sei pulls a blanket off the couch previously left by Kiraka, and drapes it over Kiyoshi's shoulders. He helps him up and leads him in front of the fire. They sit down and Sei helps Kiyoshi.

Kiyoshi suddenly becomes drawn to Sei. I can't say much from my perspective, but I get the feeling I should allow Sei to do the talking to him. Introductions can wait. What they're doing right now seems more important than a lecture about death and gods.

So I leave. I return to my family after getting the power back on. Trudging up the stairs, I smile hearing Sei and Kiyoshi chat.

It hasn't even been a day yet, but I think those two will become close.

----

"What's this?"

I examine Kiyoshi's shoulder where a mark lies.

"It's your name. It means hail. Mine means winter. Kiraka's means ice."

"Name? Winter? Kiraka? I don't understand," he trails off.
