(Third person. I'm just trying it out calm down :) Also above pic is a sketch of Lionel and Kiraka)

Their eyes lock together for a moment before she lets her pass by slowly.

She doesn't seem to realize who she is because of time. It's been nearly a decade since they last saw each other, and Kiraka is thankful she doesn't see through the white medical coat and the blue surgical mask.

Kiraka became a doctor to protect the people she couldn't. A noble and honorable profession, as Lionel would compliment her career.

To be honest, she just wanted to go home and end the day there. But with business to take care of regarding the shinki who had just given birth to demigods, her option to bail and run to the comfort of her husband's shrine was postponed.

She ran down the hall as she watched the gods and mortals enter the room all together. Hiyori's parents and friends didn't even look phased by the three Gods of Fortune towering over everyone along with a minor God of Poverty as well as their respective regalia families.

Kiraka recognized the regalia with the glasses as Kazuma. She had heard of Lionel often chatting with him when he'd visit their estate. The first time she had visited their shrine, she was greeted by the adviser-like regalia at the main gate.

Everyone close to the goddess knew about how Lionel was a rising god. They also knew about how in debt he was to Kazuma for getting his name out. This is what brought upon the monthly meetings to Bishamon.

Lionel would often go there to discuss what he called 'important god work' as he took Kiraka's brother with him. Sei was his regalia after all. A soul saved from the Far Shore through the blitz of the orphanage all those years ago. Sei's more rebellious human nature usually bargained for Kiraka to accompany them, to which she honestly desired to, but because Sei is loyal to Lionel, he never brought up the concerns directly.

However, Kiraka was not afraid to use her voice and make her presence known to him. When Kiraka was almost a teenager living under the Hokkyoku family's shrine, she often directly stated her issues and complaints to the silver haired man that would read the newspaper at the kitchen table every morning.

His icy eyes would lift from the sentences preserved in ink to converse with her. Unlike Sei, Kiraka wasn't afraid of Mr. Hokkyoku at all. They got along perfectly fine. Lionel was blown away by this.

Mr. Hokkyoku was generally stoic and usually wore a grim and somber expression painted on his thin lips. He never showed emotion and would stay away from Sei and Lionel as to not disrupt whatever they were doing. He never got involved with them. But Kiraka was different.

She truly felt like Taizu Hokkyoku's daughter.

Even though Kiraka and Sei never knew their parents or even their last names, Taizu took both of them and made them feel special. They adopted his last name and were officially adopted into his family as well.

Lionel and Kiraka grew up like siblings, but unlike siblings, there was a faint spark of romantic tension that only continued to flourish and blossom well past their teen years.

Lionel was mostly numb to it due to his focus on his studies and him and Sei using all their time for training, but Kiraka was not oblivious at all.

She continued to accept the feelings in her heart when she was near him. Whether it was observing her brother and her crush train each other, or goofing off in general like the kids they were, she always made note of the symptoms of a crush.

It wasn't until Kiraka's eighteenth birthday that Lionel began to pick up on the emotions he was feeling.

"Kiraka," he began.
