"She seems cool." Said David.
"Yea..." My voice faded.
"What's she like?" I could tell he didn't care that much in the tone of his voice but he was just trying to fill the silence and make conversation.
"Well..you know what she looks like." I said.
"Yea, but her personality." He laughed.
I rubbed the back of my own neck trying to think of what to say.
There wasn't any words to describe her. It's like she was everything.
"She's a metal head for sure, she likes dancing and singing. She plays a bit of the guitar. She's just, you know herself."
I was trying to describe her in the most dull way possible.
"She sounds like me." He laughed.
"I knew you would say that." I said giggling a bit.
We walked a little farther then came to my house.
We walked in. David had a way of not making things awkward and making himself feel "right at home."'not a normal right at home but....very comfortable.
"Are you hungry?" I asked him.
"Not really." He said.
"Oh!" He jumped up off of my sofa.
"What?" I asked, way less excited.
"Is my acoustic guitar still here???" He asked.
I nodded then pointed down the short hall to my room.
"Thanks man!" He ran back to go find it.
Here we go again, he always plays guitar. It was kind f annoying if you didn't share the same love for it as he did. Which I personally didn't.
"Man, I'm really tired." I said.
He walked back in holding his guitar.
"Want me to play a tune for you?" He said grinning.
"I think I'm just going to go to bed, you can play out here in the living room and crash on the couch when you're ready to." I replied walking back to my room.
"Okay, thanks man!" He hollered back to me.
I just smiled and went in my room.
I heard him begin to strum.
I couldn't pick up on what song he was playing but he was really good.
I ended up falling asleep really fast thanks to his beautiful melody.
**************************
A week passes by.
**************************
I woke up one morning not only from the heated sun beaming in my blue eye but from my phone ringing.
I shook my head to awake myself an picked up the phone.
"Hello" I said
"Hello, am I speaking with Mary Janes guardian?" The other end of the line of the phone call said, it was a female.
"Yes." I replied.
"You should come down to the hospital, Mary's doctor has some news." She replied.
I hung up without saying anything else.
I walked to my closet and put on a flannel and a pair of jean tighter shorts that went to my knees.
I looked in the mirror and liked this new James Bond look.
I walked out of my room and down my hall.
I smelled the sent of bacon frying. I looked over and saw my mom.
"Going to the skate park again?" She questioned, emphasizing the "again" part.
She hated me going to the skatepark she didn't think it was productive and sometimes got annoyed with me because she thought I was going no where.
I'm thankful it wasn't my dad talking though, he hates me. He thinks I'm a lazy bum that's going nowhere.
"Yep." LIE. I shook my head and smiled. I wasn't going to the skatepark for once though.
I haven't told them about Mary yet because I didn't want them to know I had done what they would call "sneaky work" meaning illegal things with the law.
My mom already didn't like what I called my friend Mary (to her) because the first time my mom had met her it was when she was wack on drugs running through the streets...not a good impression.
She thought Mary was no good and was selfish for making me stay and take care of her instead of going on vacation with my family.
"Um, can I have the car keys?" I asked with a pouty face.
My mom gave me everything most of the time only when my dad didn't know, yes I was a mamas boy.
"Why?" She looked at me.
I coughed a bit trying to draw time and make up an excuse why I would need it.
"You're not doing anything illegal are you?" She asked putting her cooking utensils down.
"No mom." I laughed. LIE.
"Then what do you need it for Hun." She raised her eyebrow.
"Well, the boys want to go skate at a Skatepark down in Delhi..." I said. LIE.
"Oh hunny, why wouldn't you just say it." She smiled and laughed.
I felt bad lying to my clueless mother, but it was the only way I could go see what's up with Mary.
I just smiled at her.
"Oh yea. They are on the nightstand in your fathers and I's room." She smiled.
I ran back to there room and snuck past my dad whom was still in bed. And he calls me a bum.
I walked out.
"Bye mom I love you!" I waved and went outside.
I started the car, it was a nice car. It was my dads BMW.
I started driving to the hospital that had Mary.
I turned up some tunes on the stereo. Nothing really sounded good to me on the normal radio station, so thank god I have a CD with all my favorite bands and songs on it.
I went to listening to some M.G.M.T. To The Nowhere Knots to some Pierce The Veil then to some Of Mice and Men.
