Devan's POV
We, that Ethan guy and I, explained them what the hell just happened. Aaaand... they look like their about to kill me... or Claire... I have no idea. "Ethan, would you be okay if... we could report Claire to the local police?" Mr. Anderson asked him and he was happy for his step sister to go to jail. Well, I'm not surprised. If I were him, i'd say the same thing! "Claire's a psycho path. Not just a criminal." Emma mumbled but Ethan and I heard it and we both snickered.
"True." I replied. "Me and Devan experienced her obsessive state." Ethan added and the three of us agreed with laughter. "Oh, you guys must be tired," Mrs. Anderson said and stood up. "We'll just go cook something for you guys before you guys go to bed, okay?" She added and we all nodded in response.
"Uhm, Mr. Anderson? Can I stay stay here for the night?" Ethan spoke up when Mr. Anderson was about to stand up from his seat. Mr. Anderson smiled at Ethan and stood up straight. "Of course! You are always welcome here in The Anderson's, son." He replied happily and Ethan smiled before glancing at Emma.
"Ooh! Ooh! We could build those pillow and blanket tent we always make!" Emma beamed with joy when Ethan said that. And with that, the two were lost in their own world while I was shut out of it. I clenched my fists and pressed them on my lips, to try not to punch Ethan in the face because he's sleeping WITH my girl. Emma is MY girl. And who are you? Mr. Best-Friend?
Ughhhh!!!! I know he just saved Emma and that they just met again today but that doesn't mean I'm invisible and-
Who am I kidding. I'm babbling again. I sighed, stood up quietly, and made my way to the kitchen. "Mrs. Anderson I think I have to get going." I said quietly, my voice cracking. She placed the fresh and hot food on the counter in front of me before she frowned at me. "Is that so? Well then, thank you so much and stay safe, dear." She said and with that, I quietly left, without getting noticed.
Wow, that hurt me more than I thought it would. My own girlfriend didn't even..... ugh.
"I'll just let them catch up..." I mumbled to convince myself as I walked home.
Ethan's POV
"Tuck that other end of the blanket over th- Ethan! You're- ughhh!" Emma complained, making me laugh. "I'm kidding!" I giggled out and so did she. Oh how I missed that giggle. "Wait, did Devan went home already? I didn't even realize." Emma mumbled and sighed. "Doesn't matter. It's Emma and Ethan night, okay?" I told her, my hands on her shoulders while shaking her slightly. She smiled and nodded before we crawled inside our little tent.
"Oh how I missed these nights." She said as she munched on the jelly beans. "Yeah. Same here." I replied and rested my head on her right shoulder. We stayed like that, talking and laughing about random stuff that we usually talked about. As she laugh, I stared at the way she does. I stared at her chocolate eyes, her soft lips, her small nose, everything. My heart melted just a little.... well, more like, a lot.
It's a shame she has a boyfriend...
"Stop staring at me like that, Ethan! It makes me insecure." She whined with her blushing face. I smiled wide and made her look at me, our faces just a few inches away. "You are one beautiful human being, Emma. Just know that." I told her whole-heartedly, our eyes never breaking contact. Then I closed my eyes and leaned in.
Emma's POV
He all of a sudden leaned in which made me alarmed, and through instinct, I immediately pushed him away. "Ethan- what the-?" I stuttered, bewildered. His eyes widened and blushed deeply, looking down in shame. "I-i'm sorry. Just forget that and let's go to sleep." He mumbled and chose to go with it. "Okay. Night, Eth." I said before we lied down, our backs facing each other.
I sighed and took out my phone to text Devan.
1:27PM - Me: Night, my prince! :3
And to my surprise, he replied at this hour,
1:28PM - Prince: Night, my beautiful princess xoxo <3
I smiled to myself, trying not to smile too much but couldn't.
1:30 - Me: damn it i can't sleep cuz of u :3
1:30 - Prince<3: same here, bby. :33
