-Still in Third Person-

Darkness engulfed Devan and Emma, along with the other people walking along the sidewalk. Arms linked together for warmth, the two walked through the chilly night to this dessert store Emma always wanted to go to. No words were exchanged from them, just comfortable silence and kicking of small rocks just because.

"Here we are!" Emma exclaimed, stopping them both in front of a well-lit store. It was quite big for a dessert store. Hanna & Mark! The dessert place of your dreams!, were written in a messy font, like it was written by a giant by hand, but still readable. The place and signage were lit by neon colored pinks and other colors that could attract any kid or even an adult. Honestly, you'd never get lost looking for this because the neighborhood was quite dark and the complete opposite of Hanna & Mark! .

"Wow," Devan sighed, looking around the store. Candies. Cake. Chocolate. Ice Cream. Devan can't believe he never knew why they never came here! Oh right. Collins would go crazy in here. Devan chuckled at the thought, but was quickly pulled away by his excited girlfriend.

"Amazing, isn't it?" Emma said with a smirk on her lips, looking at his boyfriend who looks like a 5 year old child. "I wanna marry the owner of this store. Or their child. I don't care." Devan mumbled in a serious tone, earning a slap on the arm from Emma. "Have you forgotten me already?" Emma said, scoffing playfully, arms crossed. He laughed a bit before wandering off the store while Emma orders ice cream for herself.

"Hey Mr. Pines! My usual order of ice cream please!" Emma said with joy in her ords as she greeted the owner of the place. An old man with white hair (and beard) and kind eyes, just as tall as Devan, turned around to face Emma. "Emma my dear! I haven't seen you in a while! You never come here anymore," Mr. Pines greeted back with a chuckle.

"And for the love of desserts, please, stop calling me 'Mr. Pines'. Just call me Mark!" Yep. the owner of Hanna & Mark! are of course, Hanna and Mark.

"Okay Mark. Anyways, I want-" She was cut off by Mark, "-cookie fudge ice cream and cookies and cream combo with rainbow sprinkes on top?" Mark smirked at her before getting a large enough cup for two spoonfuls of ice cream. Emma giggled and nodded, waiting as she watched the old man do its job. "So," Mark said as he finally got the cup. "Been busy, eh? Who's the lucky boy?" Emma blushed at the question and smiled like a maniac.

"Devan. Devan Key." That's all she could say as she turned her head to her boyfriend, who's at the back, looking at the varieties of gummy bears. Mr. Pines chuckled and was about to compliment Emma and Devan when Mrs. Pines (Hanna) came bursting out from the back door, besides the counter and ice cream spot.

"Mrs. Pines!" Emma exclaimed, walking to the counter on her left to hug Hanna. "Oh! But if isn't the daughter of my dreams!" She exclaimed back. They a small talk, greeting each other and all, before Devan finally walked to the counter with a basket filled with bags of gummies, sour candies, chocolates, and some packs of random things.

"Hey Em- sorry, was I interrupting something?" He mumbled, his hand placed on Emma's right shoulder, gaining every ones' attention. Hanna fixed her glasses to get a good glance at the handsome specimen, before nudging Emma with a sly smile. "Boyfriend?" The old woman teased. They both blushed, looking away. Hanna gasped, like the drama queen she is. "So you're the one who's been taking my daughter away from us!"

Devan furrowed his eyebrows at the trio, confused as hell. "D-daughter?"

So the three had to explain everything. Hanna and Mark couldn't bare a child of their own, so what they did was start a store in which children would love to go to. Emma's just one of the kids who they've grown to love.

Devan understood and nodded, before paying for the amount of sugar he bought, as Emma ate her ice cream by the side.

Fortunately for the couple, they came before the closing hours. Hanna even joked around, saying that they should get going because the young couple was keeping them from their sleep.

"See you soon, guys." Emma shouted back once they were outside.

Silence covered them again, along with the night wind. Seeing as they didn't have anything else to do, they divided the candies and chocolates so they could both benefit from them, before Devan walked Emma home.

-----
"That was fun, Em." Devan said, smiling wide. The two couple standing just in front of the girl's house. "Mhm. We should go to these kinds of dates often; I like seeing you in suits and all." Emma replied, eating up the last drop of her ice cream. Devan blushed and said the same thing to her, saying that she looked wonderful in dresses like the one she was wearing.

Emma stepped closer and so did Devan, making it difficult for air to pass between them because of how close they were standing. They kissed each other softly and filled with love, even if Emma's love was unsure and doubtful. They pulled away as soon as a cough interrupted them.

They immediately pulled away, with red cheeks. Emma already recognized the guy even in the dim light  from the moon.

"E-Ethan! What are you doing here it's late," Emma stuttered, her eyebrow raised in questioning. Devan kind of stepped a bit in front of Emma, trying not to give away that he felt quite protective. Ethan was wearing some black jeans and a dark green tank top, and Ethan felt under dressed because the other two were wearing something so formal.

Ethan examined Emma, making them both blush. He smiled and said, "You look really beautiful in that dress, Emma. I never thought you'd ever wear those kind but, damn, they look really good on you." Devan smiled politely before replying to Ethan's flirting. "I really think Emma has a boyfriend just by the side," He said with ease. Emma just rolled her eyes, thanking Ethan and scolding Devan, saying that it's alright.

"Well, I just stopped by to... talk with Emma but it seems like you guys are too busy at the moment," The Under Dressed Boy said, and Emma didn't try to stop him from going. "Yeah... We can talk tomorrow thought; I'm quite tired and sleepy." She said, rubbing her eyes a bit in the process. The two men nodded, the other one kissing her cheek as a 'good night' gesture, while the other boy stood there wishing he could.

"Good night boys, see you tomorrow!" And with that, Emma went inside her house, leaving the two boys.
