Snapping her eyes open, Hermione pushed him away from her, her reddened eyes staring at him with disgust. She felt betrayed, yet for some unknown reason, it hurt her. "Why?"
"You asked me to Hermione, you said our relationship was too dangerous and that the little Riddle would use my power to take over the world. My sweet all you kept saying was how terrorized you were that someone were to discover my existence, so you asked me to remove any memory you had of me."
His seemed hurt, vexed by her outburst. Her heart was throbbing, the pain in her chest drawing her back into his arms. "Who are you" she repeated until her word were only faint whispers.
"Why don't you sit down Hermione, you need to tell me what happened with the war, and how the Devil you're here."
Nodding, Hermione felt his hand reach down and lifted her off the ground. His scent was intoxicating. She tried to think of Severus, yet any feeling she had for him had been deadened by the presence of Lucifer -his arms securely holding her to him. Once he reached the silver sofa that appeared out of thin air beside the fireplace, he laid her cautiously onto it, before capturing her hand and lifting her knuckles to his lips, placing a kiss on each bump.
"Harry," she said, looking across the room at her still inert friend.
"I was as surprised as you were. I believe you felt constricted and your magical side protected you from him. Some sort of defense mechanism. He would have been heavily hurt if I hadn't put him to sleep."
"So he's asleep?" She knew the answer but needed to feel comforted by the idea that she had not been the cause of his uncountiousness. The outburst of magic that erupted from her veins had been unstoppable, inexplicable, and the idea of injuring her friend was worse than any curse in the world. Once Lucifer nodded back at her, Hermione sighed in relief.
Lucifer frowned at the sight that stood before him. She was malnourished, the usual glow in her skin was inexistent. She was different, he could recognize her energy, yet her eyes and body was different. "What happened to you Mine?"
Flinching at the endearing word, her ears buzzing while her heart hammered rapidly in her chest, Hermione felt shy. Embarrassed by the Devil staring at her, coming to realization that her body was reacting in an unknown way to a deity worse than Voldemort himself, Hermione immediately stood up - trying to make a distance between herself and the handsome man.
"You are the Devil" she walked backwards, her eyes focused on him - ensuring he wasn't going to vanish and appear behind her. "Why are you asking these questions? How do you know me?"
Detecting her panic, Lucifer smirked and stood up. One step at a time he got closer to her, yet each step he took forward, she took one backwards. "The real question is why were you in the restricted section in the first place."
"Don't try to change the question" she snapped, only to feel puzzled by the look of entertainment he gave her, "you're playing with me!"
Giggling, Lucifer's roaring ringing in the room, he responded: "I have asked you various questions since you're friend shrieked like an ostrich before fainting. You have answered none, why should I answer yours? Give and take. Answer me, and I'll answer you."
"Fine," she scoffed, "we went to the restricted section to find informations on time traveling, the Anima Victum Vow, virgin blood and memory charms. Now you answer me, who are you and how do you know me?"
The tall dark man's eyes widened, disdain flickering instead of mischief. His jaw clenched while his chest buffed like a bull ready for the fight, "I can live in various dimensions at the same time Hermione, which is why I remember what we lived together in your past. I have already told you who I am. My name is Lucifer, the prince of hell. My frame is the entrance of hell and we met last year before you had to escape Hogwarts after a death eater attack. You were searching for a resurrection spell but got lost. I called for you, yet you ignore me until one day when I lead you to my door. Since I've taught you many of the spells you and only you know off. But of course, you don't remember."
Hermione listened carefully, trying to fit the new pieces of the puzzle together. Yet it didn't make sense, angels or fallen angels do not exist. "My soul is the one who knows you, not this body."
"Yes, that I know I figured as much, you are different to the woman I meet a year ago in another timeline." He was coming closer to her yet Hermione didn't move, believing he was going to change his track. But he didn't. "Now tell me, if your soul is the woman I cherish, how come are you in this vessel?"
His face was now only mere centimeters away from hers, his surprising cold breath tingling her skin. "I can't believe I'm talking to the Devil," she laughed, before looking back at him: "during the war, right before dying Severus sent my soul into this timeline to save Dumbeldore." She responded, her breath ragged, her cheeks flushed by the man's beauty.
A small candlelight flickered on his face, his sharp features like the sharpest of knives captivating her. "I see, but as far as I know, no wizard has ever created a time turner that can exchange souls." His eyes were now clouded following the mention of her lover, yet she shrugged that notion away.
"Severus is not any wizard, he must have creates it himself. Either way, I still don't understand why he will give me a time turner with the engraving 'Lost soul in an eternal time of misery.' Harry and I hoped to find all of our answers in the restricted section, but my steps led me to here."
"To me" added Lucifer, a small smile slithering on his face. "I am the one that can give you these answers Mine. Now let's go back to the sofa, you're to fragile to walk around."
Vanishing in front of her eyes, she nearly yelped when she saw him appear on the sofa, his hand tapping on the space beside him. Taking a deep breath of air, Hermione joined him, yet stood at the far end of the couch, intimidate by the relationship she had with him yet couldn't remember.
