Moving a strand of hair away from her face, Severus smiled at the young woman resting beside him and leaned down to place a chaste kiss on her forehead, the guilt and sadness that had overwhelmed him a few hours ago still lingering in the depths of his mind.
Although their discussion ended shortly after Harry's sharp conclusion, his words were still fresh for the jet eyed wizard. He had tried to hide the pain that surged through him, realizing that the passionate encounters with Seraphina were calculated, planned meticulously to harm a student. He was startled by how immediate his connection with Hermione had been, confusing his feelings yet propelling him away from any latent doubts. There was no doubt in his mind that his sentiments for the divination teacher were close to inexistent compared to the fire smouldering within him at the mere naming of the sleeping beauty pressed against him.
He had thought he knew Seraphina, a woman of impressive presence and beauty that had distracted his attention from his own duties towards the upcoming war - enclosing him in the realm of raw sexual desires and fantasies. Severus had not been the kind to portray any sign of emotion unless it was masked with his usual scowl and iced filled gaze. With the years he learned to perfect this art of chameleon, adapting to his environment, changing when necessary in quest of self-preservation. Growing roses around his beating heart, it's thorns menacing to hurt anyone brave enough to venture close to his humanity, he bowed to the darkness in search of silence, peace and hiding. Suppressing a joyful laugh - relief consuming him - Severus enclosed the arm resting under Hermione's head, guiding her closer to him. The heat of her vigorous body merged instantly with his, making him sigh with delight. It was perfect.
"Thank you," he whispered in her hair, trying to stay as quiet as possible to not stir her from her rêverie, "for bringing me back to life."
Unbeknownst to him, Hermione smiled in her sleep, her ears napping on his chest, hearing each beat like a melody vibrating through his body, lulling her to sleep.
"Thank you," she finally answered back to his surprise, his orbs widening as she looked up to meet his half-hooded eyes, "for letting me in your life."

As the morning light shone through the long green curtains beside the mahogany master bedroom were rested two lovers - their steady breaths whispering in the silence of the dungeon - the warmth from the sun rays brought heat to the cool temperature of the Slytherin's lair.
Winter was slowly approaching, the trees no longer bearing distinct colourful leaves, decorating the landscape around Hogwarts. The nudity of nature reflected the presque allure of the two sleeping wizards, the woman's hand gently stroking her man's light chest hair in pure bliss.
Still sound asleep, Hermione decided to tease Severus awake by stirring his most profound desires. Smirking mischievously, she bent down on her knees at the foot of the bed before bringing her hands at the hem of his black boxers and lowering them discretely down his legs. She stifled a giggle when he started to grind his hips up in the air - uncautiously enabling her to remove the integrity of his underwear without much complication - as if his subconscious detected her growing desire.
Biting her lip seductively, the sight of the only piece to her puzzle merging free from his confine excited her. She felt giddy, the situation all too similar to her first morning as Madame Snape, however, the difference was, their souls were one. "Why has he never suggested bonding with me?" Her mind wandered back to the time her Severus was protective, fearing the war and how it could affect their relationship. However, as she caressed the thighs of her lover, Hermione tried to ignore the voices in her mind and redirected her attention to pleasuring the dishevelled man on the bed.
