Chapter Five

Virgil led the prince toward his room, meowing as he ran to keep him following him. "What- Virgil's room?" Roman questioned as they reached the door. The kitten nodded as he pawed at the door. The fanciful Side hesitated as he reached for the doorknob. "I... this is his room, I can't just go snooping around in his stuff! It's rude!"

The cat rolled his eyes, jumping up to hit the doorknob and open it himself. Roman gasped as he pushed his way inside.

Virgil jumped up onto his art table, pushing his red and gold sketchbook onto the ground toward the prince. His eyes widened as he moved to pick it up quickly. "Hey! Careful! You're going to ruin something- huh?" he stopped as he looked down at the sketchbook in his hands. The page it was currently open to was a drawing of... him. "Whoa..."

The prince turned the page, finding a new and incredible drawing of him on each one. "Virgil drew all of these?" he asked, mostly just talking to himself in disbelief. The kitten sat, purring. The anxious Side was blushing furiously under his fur as he watched him look at the artwork. "These are incredible! Why, though? Why would Anxiety of all people want to draw me?"

He looked at the kitten, who was staring at him expectantly. Roman's eyes widened a little. "Did you bring me here to show me these because Virgil doesn't hate me?" the prince asked, smiling a little as he looked back down at the sketchbook. He ghosted his fingers over the drawings, smile growing. "He's incredibly talented."

Thanks Sir Sing-A-Lot, Virgil thought happily from his place on the art table. He was purring, making Roman reach down to pet him. I hope you don't find out I'm this cat. That would make all of this awkward as hell.

"Roman! It's Saturday! That means movie night!"

The prince gasped in realization upon hearing Patton call for him. "Right! Movie night," he said, closing the sketchbook and placing it back onto the table. "I need to find Anxiety and ask him to join us. I don't want him to feel left out."

Virgil panicked as he went to leave the room. How am I supposed to get him to stop looking for me?! I'm right here and he has no idea! he thought, looking around. He got an idea, meowing loudly. The sound got Roman to come back into the room, looking confused.

"You okay, kitty?" he asked as Virgil pulled painting out of a folder carefully with his teeth. "Hey! Don't do that!"

He took the painting from him quickly, looking at it. His eyes widened. "Whoa! This is my palace!" Roman gasped. "He goes into the Imagination? Oh, wait! He's probably there now, since no one's seen him today. If he's painting, I don't really want to bother him, but what if I hurt his feelings?"

The kitten rolled his eyes at the prince despite feeling a flutter in his chest at his concern for his feelings. "Oh, you think that's funny? You haven't been a complete asshole to him since day one of his presence here," Roman snapped, putting the paint down as he clenched his fists. Virgil flinched at his sudden anger. "S-Sorry, I'm just not feeling great about myself right now..."

The anxious Side was saddened, moving forward to brush against his leg. He purred when the prince looked down at him, mewing a little. Roman couldn't hold back a smile as he did so, sighing a little.

"Thanks," he said, knowing he was trying to comfort him. "I guess, I can't do anything about it, and I'll talk to him tomorrow."

The kitten nodded as if to say 'good idea' before Roman leaned down to pick him up. He was scooped into Princey's arms, who brushed their noses together. "What should I call you, little kitty?" he asked as Virgil purred. "Hmm how 'bout Storm? Like the little cloud Anxiety's logo is!"

Oh my god... I love it, Virgil thought as he purred and mewed in agreement.

"Storm it is then! Now, come on! We've got a movie to watch!"
