Virgil wasn't sure how he'd convinced himself to leave his room, but he did. He'd exited his bedroom only to find that there was an entire living room connected to it, as if it was a hotel suite. There was a person wearing black night armor standing by the door, making him jump. "Oh, um, who are-"
"Prince Namor has instructed me to tell you there's clothes in the closet for you to change into if you wish," they said, cutting him off as he spoke. "I'll take you to the dining room whenever you'd like."
The anxious Side stared for moment. "Oh, um... okay? Thank you?" he managed, moving toward the closet hesitantly. He pulled it open, eyes widening as he looked at the suits and gowns that it contained. It was clear that Namor had clothes that didn't favor one gender or another, and it made Virgil smile a little, feeling more at ease already. He wasn't so different from the rest of them in regards to acceptance.
Browsing his options, he found a purple and black suit that looked right up his alley. He took the hanger off the rack, holding it up to himself.
"Ah, he thought you'd like that one," the knight said. Virgil looked up curiously as they shrugged bashfully. "I'm not supposed to tell you this, but he made that himself. He was really hopeful you'd like it."
"Oh, okay..." the anxious emo managed in reply, blushing slightly as he took it to the bathroom to change. A small gasp escaped his lips as he saw the size of it. It was massive, complete with everything you'd want in a master bathroom. "I guess... if you're living in the Imagination, you can do or have anything you want."
He shrugged, making sure the door was locked before stripping down and putting on the suit with care. It was very loose at first before it seemed to tailor itself to his body. Blinking at the magic the seemed to work without him doing anything, Virgil looked at one of the numerous full body mirrors to see how it looked. A small gasp emitted from his lips as they curled into a smile. In his opinion, this was one of the best looks he'd ever worn and he'd only just put it on.
The suit was form fitting, thanks to its magic tailoring abilities, and completely black apart from the few purple accents. The collar, for example, was deep purple with silver embroidery in the shape of lightning bolts. He brushed it with his fingers, marveling at the careful attention to detail. On the right breast pocket was a purple and silver rose; as he traced the careful stitching he wondered how long it had taken Namor to make.
Taking a deep breath and checking his hair, he returned to the living room and nodded to the guard. He didn't feel like a hostage as the armored person politely escorted him to the large dining room; they made pleasant conversation as they went, and Virgil would ask about the palace. "Prince Namor awaits your presence in here," they said, opening the grand double doors and gesturing for him to enter. "I wish you a pleasant evening."
The anxious Side thanked them as he stepped inside and heard the door close behind him. "Evening Virgil! I'm so happy you decided to join us!" Namor said excitedly, standing up from his seat instantaneously upon seeing him. He crossed the room with a bright smile that showed off sharpened canines. In the well-lit dining room Virgil could see his eyes more clearly, suppressing the urge to look away from the black and red eyes. The dark prince looked him up and down, beaming as he recognized the suit. "I'm also very pleased you found something to wear that was to your liking!"
"Y-Yes, it's very beautiful and very well crafted," Virgil said, smiling just slightly at the pride and pure joy that flooded his expression.
Namor reached for his hand, but stopped himself quickly. The action confused the anxious Side but he didn't have time to dwell on it before he gestured toward the table. "Come, there's obviously a seat saved for you," he said, leading him around the table to said chair and pulling out for him. "The chefs will be bringing dinner out shortly, so until then I guess we can just talk and get to know each other."
Get to know each other... his mind echoed. Why does it feel like I already know him? It feels like I shouldn't be scared of him, like I should trust him. Get to know each other... okay, I do have a few questions.
