Virgil was cowering behind the dark prince, looking at the creative Side with a fearful glare. Neither prince knew what to do. They were both equally confused as to what was going on.

"Virgil, it's me," Roman said, lowering his sword as he smiled at him. "I've come to take you home."

The anxious Side stepped back as he stepped forward, shaking his head. "No! You're the one that hates me!" he cried, looking scared as he clung to Namor. "You wanted me gone all the time! I'm glad I'm here! Get away from me! Don't let him hurt me anymore Namor!"

The dark prince let out a gasp as he buried his face into his chest and squeezed him tightly. Roman looked like he was about to break down; his eyes were glossy and his hands were trembling. If looks could kill, he'd be dead from the way he was glaring at him. The creative Side raised his sword again toward him. His voice was low and terrifying as he spoke with seething anger as he tried to mask his pain. "What did you do to him?"

"Roman, I swear on my life, I haven't done anything to him!" he said, practically pleading for him to believe him. "Virgil- what- I don't know what's going on!!"

"Cut the bullshit Namor," the prince yelled, tears dripping down his cheeks. He was visibly shaking as he looked between the cowering anxious Side and the dark prince. "What did you do? It's this some sort of messed up revenge plot?! D-Does making the person I'm in love with be afraid of me give you some sort of sick satisfaction?! It feels good, doesn't it? Seeing someone else finally have to go through what you do, that's sick, and I can't believe you did this!"

At this point, Namor was on the edge of tears too. He carefully guided Virgil, still clinging to him, to sit on the stairs, murmuring for him to stay put before facing Roman. He recognized what was in his voice; he was scared. The idea of having the person you care about more than anything in this world being scared of you even coming near them was terrifying, and no one understood that better than him.

"Roman..." he said, speaking softly as he approached him. He was shaking his head, his sword clattering to the ground as he frantically tried to wipe his face clean of tears but they just kept flowing. The dark prince was cautious about his movements; the last thing he wanted to do was make it worse. "Roman, you know I can help you, just let me-"

"No! Get away from me!" he cried, flinching away as he stepped closer.

Namor swallowed and reached for him anyway. He pulled him into his chest, focusing on his fear as he tried to get him to calm down. The fear was starting to flow from Roman to him. He was taking it from him so he could calm down.

This wasn't unfamiliar to either of them. When they were younger, they hang out with each other on both sides of the border. Sometimes the prince would fall asleep in his palace and wake up in tears because of a nightmare. He do then what he'd done now, pulled him close and taken his fear away from him. It was sort of how Virgil could take anxiety from the others when they were going through attacks, but it didn't necessarily harm him anymore. He'd practiced it so much when they were younger that it had virtually no effect on the dark prince.

"Feel better?" he asked quietly, running his fingers through the hair on the back of Roman's head.

He nodded into his shoulder, sniffling as he tried to explain. "I'm sorry for freaking out on you..." he mumbled, making Namor's eyes widen in surprise; he hadn't been expecting him to apologize. "I... I know you've done nothing wrong, I just- Virgil went missing and I got so scared and now this-"

"Shh..." he cooed, feeling his chest warming a little. "It's okay, Ro... I know how it must've looked. I wasn't even the one who-"

He stopped dead in his sentence, a chill running up his spine as realization fell over him. The dark prince pulled away from the embrace to look over at Virgil before back at Roman. He was looking at him questioningly. "What is it, Namor?"

His eyes were dark as he met the gaze of the creative Side. "Deceit."
