It was a rainy day when they met again. Again, because it wasn’t the first time. Although the first meeting was already a long time ago and could have already been forgotten, neither of them forgot. It was too sudden, too unusual and too magical to be forgotten.

It was any other normal day when they met again. That morning, Park Eunjin went to a grocery store which is something she does every week when there are no classes and she have all the time in the world. The rain which started as a drizzle went pouring down and to her worst of luck she didn’t bother to bring an umbrella with her.

While mentally cursing herself for being so stupid and not bothering to bring an umbrella, she patiently waited for a cab to take her home. She tried to console herself that it wasn’t so bad. Who would have guessed the sunny morning would turn into a foul afternoon? Besides she was already juggling 4 bags of groceries in her arms and there is just no room for an umbrella.

Just a few feet away from her, she heard 3 guys arguing. She didn’t want to be caught staring so she settled with just listening. She doesn’t usually snoop around some other people’s business but hey she was bored and besides the conversation sounds interesting.

“Yah, you’re the maknae, you should carry them,” one of the guys said.

“Yeah. Besides, most of it is yours,” said the other one.

“First of all, there is no law that says maknaes should carry things around while his stupid hyungs are bumming away. Second, the only thing that’s mine is banana milk,” the guy who was probably the maknae argued.

“Yeah, a whole pack of banana milk.”

The maknae just chuckled. Eunjin could almost see him rolling his eyes and she smiled at the thought. “Let’s play rock, paper, and scissors then,” the maknae suggested.

As childish as it may sound, she had to admit it was an interesting thought. Maybe the world would be a better place if all people will do the same thing. Just imagine how nice it would be if wars would end with just some waves of hands and shouts of “kai, bai, bo”

Unfortunately she wasn’t able to hear who lost the game because to her disappointment her ride arrived just before the loser got announced. She saw a cab approaching and in her haste to get home she didn’t notice the guy who walked a few steps towards the direction she was heading.

She found herself bumping into a hard chest and an arm instinctively held her by the shoulders preventing her from embarrassing herself. If he hadn’t been so quick she would have found herself sprawled on the floor with her groceries littering on the pavement around her.

She knew she was partly at fault for not watching where she was going so she looked up to apologize but when she saw his face she stood frozen in shock and any thoughts of apology were instantly forgotten.

He was wearing a hooded jacket probably to avoid unnecessary stares directed at him. She took a peak behind him and noticed his other two companions were also wearing disguises. Although he was trying to hide his face, up close she was able to see a bit of it which was enough for her to recognize the man.

There in front of her stood Lee Taemin.

The guy who made her think of “what ifs” and “if only”, the same guy who walked into her life as fast as he walked away, the same guy who arrived and left for only 15 fucking minutes but for some weird reason it was long enough to make her go crazy with regret.

He also stared at her with eyes wide with shock and recognition. Somehow a part of her was happy he recognized her too. Because it could mean he was feeling the same way as she does. Well, he better be. Their meeting was short but apparently enough to make an impact.

The other guys with him might have noticed something was odd because one of them, who’s name as far as she can remember is Minho, asked, “Do you know who she is, Taemin-ah?” The other guy named Key was also looking at them with curiosity.

While flashing a smile that could melt anyone’s heart he said, “Yes. She’s my girlfriend.” And Eunjin suddenly felt the urge to punch that silly smile away from his face.
