Ever since she lost her memories she became distant to a lot of people. She had quite a few friends but she never considered them as best friends. She was afraid they would start asking her questions and she couldn't answer because she can't remember. Like who was your first love? How was your high school like? Did you date anyone in high school? She didn't know the answer to any of those questions. The earliest memory she had was waking up in a hospital bed with her mom and dad. Shortly afterwards, they moved to Daegu. Soojin was not yet part of the family then. She was already at her 3rd year of high school during that time. What happened before then, she had no idea.
They only told her one thing though. She had been in a really dangerous situation and because of the trauma from the incident she had amnesia. It could be a short term or it could last a lifetime. So far all she had were flashes of memories. She was no longer as desperate to remember the past as she was before. Perhaps she already got used to not having them around.
Today, she went home early as usual just to find her parents in the middle of an argument. Before she opened the door, she heard shouts coming from the kitchen. When she and Soojin are around, their parents act like nothing's wrong between the two of them but when they were not, they fight as if the mere existence of each other disgusts them.
Eunjin sighed and without second thoughts she left without announcing her presence. They can just go on fighting, she wouldn't even care.
"What's with the long face?" someone said behind her.
Taemin. She smiled then turned to face him. "I'm having a bad day."
"Wae? Miss me?"
She laughed. He really knows how to cheer her up.
"Let's date. I have a few hours off."
"Ok. Let's go somewhere far," she suggested.
They rode the car to god knows where. They have no exact place in mind. She just wanted to get away from everything and everyone. They have gotten as far as Incheon when suddenly the car broke down. After some failed attempts to fix it, Taemin decided to leave the car and take the bus instead.
She got worried about the consequences of what they were about to do. Taemin taking the bus is going to be really dangerous. If someone recognizes him they're going to be in big trouble.
"It's alright," Taemin assured her. She never voiced it out but he always knows what's bothering her. How he does it she had no idea. "I actually wanted to do this in a long time but I never had the chance. This is going to be fun. You'll see." He sounded so confident so it's probably alright.
"I'll just call a tow truck later. Common." He took her hand and then they started walking towards the nearest bus stop. Riding the bus together and holding hands. It really is fun. However, just when she thought they were going back to Seoul, Taemin suddenly decided to take the bus going to an entirely opposite direction.
"I thought we were going home?" she asked.
"Do you want to go home?"
"Well... no."
"You said you wanted to get somewhere far so I'm taking you as far away as possible. We're not going home until you say so."
"Ok," she happily agreed.
They reached the outskirts of Gunsan when Taemin decided they should grab something to eat. She didn't realize she was starving until he mentioned food. They decided to have lunch in a café nearby. She ordered a pesto while Taemin had a quarter pound burger, large size pizza, and fries. After a while, she noticed some people glance their way while others are whispering among themselves. It seemed like Taemin's presence is starting to create a fuss.
