It seems as if I wake up from a long sleep and I realise I am underground before I begin digging my way up to the light I can see. Eventually, I make it to where I can see the stars above me and I hear a noise drawing me to a set of people that are standing close, but not too close. In the back of my head I realise that it is Raphael, Magnus, Izzy, and Alec standing there causing me to give a small smile before I can feel my thirst. I take a step back not wanting to hurt anyone and see understanding and amazement on Raphael's face as he comes forward with something in his hands. My eyes flicker to what is in his hand allowing me to see it is a bottle until he opens it and the smell reaches my nose causing my fangs to come out. He hands me the bottle and I quickly drink it down noticing how it immediately sates my thirst causing a small smile to form on my lips before looking up with a smile and head tilt.

"Are you okay? We still have more blood if you need it." He whispers knowing I will hear it even if they don't.

"I'm perfectly fine Raph and what I drank has sated my thirst for now. Did we win?"

"The battle is over and though many loses were suffered, but we still won. All of your visions came true though by the end of the battle, but before we had time to bury you."

"It's okay Raph. It is better for me in the long run because what the three of us had was toxic and was not good for me. I needed to get away from them and what I felt for them before it was too late, but that didn't go as planned. Does everyone know then?"

"No, Alexander and Isabelle wanted to make sure you would rise before telling anyone that you were going to turn. Magnus told Tessa though because they have a surprise for you during the celebration in a few days. I think it's time for you to show everyone what has happened because they have been dodging questions regarding you and they believe that everyone knows something has happened to you without knowing what it is exactly."

I run my thumb over his cheek before wrapping my arms around his neck leaving my head to lay near his neck. He holds me as well running his hand through my hair before pressing a kiss to the top of my head causing a smile to turn my lips up. Footsteps have me pulling back to see who is approaching first and I give a smile before throwing my arms around Magnus holding him tightly as my undead heart gives a painful thump. These people who are not my blood are my true family and three of them had to watch me die yesterday at the hands of a demon on my father's orders. I pull away to give Alec a hug as well, but make sure not to hold him as tightly as the other two because he is more fragile in structure than they are. Finally, Izzy walks forward with tears falling down her face and a smile lighting up her face as she throws her arms around my neck causing me to bury my face in her neck taking an unnecessary deep breath of her scent. A pained noise comes from my throat knowing I had hurt the four people I never wanted to hurt ever in my life.

"I am so sorry Izzy for putting you through the pain of losing a Parabati. It was selfish of me to tie myself to you for such a short amount of time and I should have refused."

"Jay check your Parabati rune for me please."

My brows furrow in confusion considering how all of us know that the runes would disappear from my skin the closer to rising I became. For some reason I decide to check though and my eyes widen in shock before I move her ponytail and see her rune as well giving a weak smile. We have been given a great gift that I will not squander for as long as I am alive and able to protect her. I give such a huge smile it feels like my face is going to split in two over the joy of still having a Parabati even though I am now a vampire. The angel Raziel has given us a great gift indeed and that's when I turn to look at Alec considering I know Jace died.
