Epilogue

I wake up the night of the celebration before grabbing my dress that I had bought before everything went to hell in a handbasket. I quickly shower before blow-drying my hair and pull on my dress that makes me smile as I look at it. I had altered the back of the dress yesterday to be able to allow my tail to remain free instead of confined. I quickly braid my hair into two plaits before making them into crowns on my head making me give a small smile. I move to the floor-length mirror to see the full effect of the outfit. My dress is reminiscent of the Eighteen-hundreds which is the reason it first got my gaze and even came with a corset, but that won't bother me since I don't breathe. I pull on a pair of flats before Raph comes into the room to see me standing in front of the mirror.

"You look beautiful as you always do my midnight flower."

"And you look handsome my love. Shall we get going?"

He puts his arm out for me to take with a smile that makes him look so much younger that I give a bright smile showing off my fangs. We walk out and into the street where everyone is going towards the Accords Hall where there will be fireworks. I give Raph a kiss before moving to Magnus and Tessa who are standing under a tree speaking to one another. I use my vampire speed to get to them and Magnus pats my head with a soft smile on his face. Tessa watches me with her lovely grey eyes until I surprise her by giving her a hug that she returns after a second with a small laugh. I pull back to see a buried sadness in her eyes making my eyebrows furrow in confusion causing her to give a small smile.

"I had hoped that you would not have to join us in this never-ending eternity because it is ever so lonely. I never want you to experience the pain you will now have to endure forever."

"We'll make it through Tess as long as we have one another. Plus, the only blood relative that wants anything to do with me is my sister and that is fine by me. Raph said you had a surprise waiting for me today what is it?" I query causing her lips to quirk at the ends as I hear footsteps coming from behind her.

"(Y/N)! What are you doing here?"

"Magnus told Tessa that you were hurt and I needed to check on you of course. We planned this right after Magnus showed up because we knew something bad was going to happen and that you would need something good to off-set the bad."

I throw my arms around her and hold her tightly with a face-splitting grin that makes her chuckle as she runs her hands through my hair. (Y/N) is Tessa's biological twin sister and someone I view as an older sister even though I view Tessa as my mother figure. It's been a few months since I last saw the two and it always makes my day better to see the two of them if even for only a few minutes. She turns me around to stare at the sky just as the fireworks begin going off causing tears to enter my eyes and I put a hand to my mouth. Izzy comes over to me knowing I just heard her thoughts and gives a sad smile allowing me to give a weak one in return.

"You're right Izzy. Max would have loved to sit and watch these fireworks with all of us."
