Chapter 11, May I have the honor of taking your daughter to prom?

    The rest of the night I sat in the chair by Jades bed holding her hand. I kept repeating over to myself that she was going to make it. It seemed to good to be true.

   I woke up that morning, my arm hurting. I realized I had my arm stretched out all night. I woke up pretty late, but luckily it didn't matter, I didn't have to go to school.

    The week had past, and it was already Friday.  That previous Thursday morning, Jade started to twitch her hand, and move her arm, though she still wasn't awake. The doctor said for one of us to move her legs and arms every other hour, to keep her moving. That's what I sit here doing now.

   " Your mom just called, Drew. She said she was on her way back from getting your makeup work." Cindy said to me.

   " Alright thanks." I said as I felt something grab my hand.

   " Jade stop" I said with my eyes closed not even thinking about what I just said.

  " JADE!" I yelled as I looked at her, her eyes open.

  Cindy rushed to Jades bedside. 

  " Honey, can you here me? Its me your momma. If you can hear me move your fingers."

  Jade did.

  Cindy and I both had tears of joy.

 " Jade, honey if you can here me this time talk." Cindy asked hopefully.

  Jade didn't open her mouth. 

  I hit the button on the side of the bed to call the doctor in.

   After a few minutes of examining Jade, Doctor Blythe told us that it would take her a while to talk again, but she could very well understand us. So it would be a good idea for us to talk to her all that we could. So I was definitely going too.

  Mom and Cindy said I could have have time alone with Jade while they went down to the cafeteria for a drink.

  I walked into Jades room and sat on her bed.

  " Hello Beautiful." I said leaning down kissing her on the lips. " 

   "I'm so happy your alive." I said, as tears ran down my face.  

    I watched as Jade lifted her hand up and put hers on mine, wiping away the tears. 

   " I love you." I said.

  Trying to start a conversation, I started telling her about how I have been here every minute she was in here. Then  I started to talk about the field trip, and how much fun I had. It seemed to brighten up her face. She was smiling.
