(Tori's POV)
"Ugh! Why is she so difficult sometimes?" I muttered."Well, have you considered that the rebellion is a rough place to be? Philipa said for herself that everyone there - that wasn't in her section - was either cold or ignorant. Being a leader there must've taken a toll on her emotional state." Patricia, my ma asked. I sighed.
"No but-" I started, but was cut off by Paula, my mom.
"You should look at things from another perspective. When I saw her face when she woke up, I already knew that she was stressed. She needs time, ya' know." Paula suggested calmly.
I sighed. I knew they were right, and I only let them do this because they were my moms. I couldn't tell them no because that would kill me.
A knock came from the other side of the door. I looked from Paula to Patricia, who encouraged me to enter. I opened the door to see
Y/N, who was dressed in the outfit I gave her, with her original clothes in a folded pile on the bed she slept in."Hm. Comfortable." She commented, looking slightly impressed.
"Good. Now come on, I want to ask you some questions." I turned around, walking out the door. I heard her following me.
I motioned for my parents to leave as Y/N sat down. I coughed, and she looked at me.
"So," I started. "What was it like at your base? What did you do there?" I asked, trying to get as much information as I could without making it obvious or making her uncomfortable.
"Tamara would keep me in the base. She wouldn't let me fight, so I sat around, checking on people." She responded. "I would write when I was bored."
An idea sparked in my head. "Be my secretary." I ordered.
"What?" She shook her head. "Are you serious? You expect the woman you captured and are holding hostage to hear you say 'be my secretary' and automatically think 'why not? I definitely don't hate this person's guts for destroying my home, attempting to murder my friends and try to take over the world'. Is that what you were thinking?" She snapped, standing up. Damn, this woman is moody. Is she on her-
"Well?" She growled angrily. I didn't respond. She huffed and went back into the room she was originally in.
I waited for silence. Then I stood up and walked into my bedroom, which was connected to my office. I slammed my fist against the wall furiously.
"You are taking it too fast. She needs time." Joan's ghost appeared in front of me. I shook my head. "If you just captured a woman, especially one who hates you, give her time or she will attempt to stab you."
"I know Joan. It's just ... she can't know, so what better way than to hide it?" I asked.
The ghostly advisor sighed. "Try to make her somewhat happy. That's all I have to say." Joan disappeared, leaving me alone in the silent, cold room.
I put my hair into a ponytail. It was slightly darker at the ends, the permanent scorch marks from ... the incident. I sighed and laid down on my bed.
A loud noise came from outside. I looked outside my window to see falling beams. With one of my experiments standing directly under them, completely oblivious to the situation.
What's it doing outside the cell! Who let it out?
I heard two loud slams outside my room. Not even two seconds later, I saw Y/N, who dashed towards the kid. She shoved him out of the way and covered her head. The beams fell on her. I screamed.
I ran through the hallways to the yard. The yard was silent, with soldiers staring at the mess of equipment. I heard a loud creak and I saw an arm grab a beam, an pull itself up, revealing a disheveled Y/N. I walked towards her and attempted to move the poles. Some feel over, allowing
Y/N to step out of the fray. She huffed and patted her hair to make it neater.(Your POV)
You felt something aggressively wrap around your leg. You looked down to see the kid who you saved a few minutes ago. You kneeled down and gently patted his head."Be careful kid." You smiled softly.
"Okay, okay, now you," Tori looked over at you. "Follow me. You're coming back."
You shot Tori a small glare. "Only if this kid is coming with me."
"It's not even a kid." She snapped back. You twitched angrily. A kid is a kid, no matter how different they seemed!
You glanced at the kid. They were a seven year old boy, but you noticed that he had a couple monster-like features that were similar to yours, like a tail and purple horns.
"Yes it is, are you blind? If he's not a kid, then what is he?" You asked furiously, picking the boy up.
"It's an experiment! And it's not a 'he', it's an it." Tori grabbed your wrist, for you had it raised. "We'll talk about this inside. Don't bring the thing with you."
You simply clutched the boy tighter in retaliation. Tori clapped her hands and three soldiers approached you and attempted to steal the child from your grasp. You hissed like a cat and slapped their arms away. Tori grabbed your body and pulled you away from the kid. She wrapped her arms around your stomach and the kid was taken. Then she carried you inside.
"What was that for?" You stomped your foot when she put you down.
"That was for refusing to follow my orders. And it is an IT, not a kid." Tori growled.
"Will you listen to me for once in your life?" You snapped. "Even when we lived together you weren't this difficult to work with." You muttered the last part under your breath.
"What was that?" Tori hissed, picking you up by the collar of your sweater and pinning you against the wall.
"Nothing at all." You whispered.
