(Your POV)
"What are you doing down here? A child shouldn't be in a place like this!" You scooped the child into your arms, holding him close. Now that you could see his face. You noticed that he had some features that looked like your monster parts, like small purple horns and tiny, dull claws. He had Tori's chestnut hair and silver eye color, though. It was a bit suspicious.

"I'm sorry miss, I kinda- live down here? That's where miss Red keeps me." He points to a cage labeled 'Experiment 235, Thorn'.

"So Thorn's your name. Well then, I claim you as my child now." You announced, holding him up into the air. "I'm also planning to yell at Tori for fifteen minutes about keeping a kid down here."

"Alright miss- um, can I call you ma?" Thorn asked. You thought about it for a minute, before smiling and nodding.

"Okay Thorn, let's go." You started walking up the hallway at a quick pace, considering it might almost be dawn.

You tip toed down the hallway, careful not to wake anyone. You peeked into Tori's room just to make sure she was asleep. She was asleep in a chair at a desk, wearing a tank top and with her arms folded with her head resting in her arms. You sighed and walked into her room silently, and put her coat on her sleeping body, which made her purr and shift in her slumber. You smiled slightly and left the room.

(Tori's POV)
I woke up when I heard my door creak. I opened my eye just a bit, only enough to see who was there and what they were doing. I saw Y/N standing in the doorway, with one of my experiments in her arms. How did she access him- I mean it?

She slowly put the experiment down and approached my 'sleeping' body. She sighed and muttered something to herself that I couldn't understand and put my overcoat onto my body. I was confused. I thought she hated me? Apparently not as much. Does she ... ? No, not like I do.

I hummed lightly and moved a little from my original position. I heard a faint giggle escape her mouth and watched as she exited my room, sighing softly.

Once she closed the door, I immediately sat up and questioned whatever just went through her mind.

I got out of my chair. The first lights of dawn were shining through the frost on my window, creating a sparkling mosaic on my red comforter. I put my sweater on as well as my overcoat and pants. I went over to my desk and stared at the blueprints. Perfect.

"Tori? Are you awake?" Paula knocked on my door.

"Yeah, come in." I turned the light off at my desk as my mom walked in. She had a cigar in her mouth, and I noticed that her bandages over her eye had been changed.

"Y/N was acting a bit suspicious this morning. Just wanted to let you know. She also wanted to talk to you. She's in the courtyard, surveying the work. Patricia let her." She said and walked out.

I sighed. My mom was always very distant. She would give me advice, and tell me when something was wrong, but we never had a close relationship. My memories were mostly barren of any time she had put genuine into being a part of my life.

Why would ma allow Y/N to go somewhere without my consent? I know she has a soft spot for her ever since they met, but ma always asks.

I decided to go see whatever Y/N was doing in the courtyard. My soldiers are a bit uncomfortable around her because of the atmosphere she brings with her.

A few soldiers that were lingering in the hallways saluted as I walked past. I smiled, these people were like a family to me.

"Red leader!" One of my soldiers, Alexander, shouted. He seemed to be urgent. "There's a dispute in the courtyard! This one's really serious!"

I remembered Y/N was there. I ran to the courtyard, hoping that she wasn't caught in the fray. If that were the case, I wouldn't hear the end of it.

When I got to the courtyard, I was startled. Y/N was there, keeping two soldiers from killing each other while scolding them in the process. My ma seemed to be confused, but she also had a satisfied expression. She noticed me and gestured me over.

"She's trying to help them! Isn't it great that she's doing something other than telling you whatever you scheduled?" My ma smiled brightly. "Personlig tror jeg at dere to ville lage et godt par." She joked, causing my face to feel hot. [Translation: Personally, I think that you two would make a good pair.]

"Ma!" I became flustered, messing with my overcoat and rubbing the nape of my neck.

"Just sayin'..." she nudged my shoulder playfully. I rolled my eye. It's just a joke ... right?

"... that solves the problem, correct? Now, off with you two!" I became aware of Y/N's voice, consoling the two soldiers.

"Thanks mom! We're sorry!" They said, causing confusion to fill my brain.

Mom? Why are they calling her that? Has she been talking with my soldiers without telling me? I wonder ...

"Tori? Tori? Earth to Tori, hello!" I heard my ma's voice snap me back to reality.

"Huh?" My ma laughed.

"Y/N nærmer seg." She whispered as the new and infamous 'mom' drew near.

"What're you doing here? I was pretty sure that you were still asleep." Y/N tilted her head, seeming to be in a better mood than usual.

"I woke up. People do that." I responded sarcastically.

"Hilarious. Now where's the clipboard?" She was definitely more assertive and talkative than normal.

"It should be in the office." I pointed in the direction of where she was supposed to go. "I also want to talk to you later. Now, off with you!" I mimicked her.

She twitched. "Yes ma'am."

My ma grabbed my sleeve. "I took a paper out of the schedule for ... a reason."

"What? Why?" I asked.

"Well ... I noticed something that could've upset Y/N." She shuffled her feet.

"Just tell me." I snapped.

"You have a meeting," she started. "With the opprør."
