(Your POV)
As if the boat wasn't crowded enough, another person was about to board in a uniform and silhouette that you recognized.Ell.
She was standing in a rock in the distance, waving her arms. The red-faced silhouette did what she normally did: slowly row over and have them board.
Everyone did what they usually did and stared at Ell, seeing what she would do. She took the now empty seat next to you. She definitely recognized who you were.
She turned to you and opened her mouth to say something, but the worried expression on your face shut her up. You put a finger over your mouth to silently tell her what to do.
Suddenly, the lifeboat stopped moving. The 'captain' turned around and a the thick scent of fear hung over the passengers.
She pointed to the Blue army soldier and smiled. You knew what this meant. You and Ell watched as the Blue soldier stood up along with everyone else, and Ell's eyes glazed over with sheer horror as the figure was thrown over the left side of the boat.
You cast a sympathetic glance at Ell - you were used to this, it would happen every now and then. But she wasn't. She didn't know how it worked on this tiny lifeboat.
If the captain turned around and pointed at somebody with a smile, that means they were going to die. Then they would be tossed over the left side and into heaven or ... the other place.
If she looked at you with an angry glare, you would be thrown off the right side of the boat and go back to the waking world. You survived.
It's what happened to the Green soldier next to you before Ell. They went back to the waking world. And I thought Tori killed all of them.
As for that Blue soldier - they weren't as lucky. They died, unfortunately for them. You felt bad for them - they watched everyone with sympathy.
You wondered what happened to Ell anyway. Did she go into a coma somehow? Who did it? Will she die?
Pushing away your thoughts, you sat quietly in that lifeboat, and noticed that it was a bit higher in the water.
(Tori's POV)
I stood by Y/N's bed, watching the heart monitor carefully. It was staying at a steady level, thankfully. My mom and I got the beat steady, so she was alive, just in critical condition.I've been in here for days on end, making sure that nothing happens to her. I noticed that her breathing was getting faster. What was going on in her mind? I hope it's not bad.
"Tori?" My ma opened the door, probably to check on me or try to get me out of the room. "You need to eat and sleep. Paula can't run the army for you forever. And you have a meeting today, so get ready."
"Reschedule it. I'm busy." I said, giving my ma a dismissive wave. But the shorter brunette was having none of this today.
"Well I'm not giving you a choice." My ma - despite being shorter and smaller - picked me up and began to carry me out of the room, even though I was struggling and shouting. She was stronger than me, but I was in a tired state, so she had the upper hand anyway.
"It's another meeting with the rebellion again. They want to talk - they say it's urgent." Patricia spoke as she carried me. I stopped fighting - I knew my ma was right. I was in a terrible state.
"But what about Y/N?" I whispered her name in a worrisome way. I didn't know why I was so scared, I guess it's easy to become attached to her. Again.
"Paula is watching her. She keep her stable; I know she will." My ma shoved me into my quarters. "Now take a shower and get into a new change of clothes. Now go!"
My ma left the room. I sighed heavily and did as I was told; if I didn't, I'd be dead.
~Short Time Skip~
I finished buttoning my trench coat and exited the room, where Patricia was waiting. She was in uniform and started readjusting my outfit.
"I already did this, ma. Just let me get over this and get back to Y/N." I rolled my eye.
"You need to run this army. We'll take care of her, and we'll let you visit her. Now go to the meeting - they've already started calling you." Patricia nudged me in the direction of the meeting room.
I entered and pressed the 'answer' button. The digital versions of Tamara and Matilda appeared in the chairs around the table. I guess they updated the technology. I'll go acknowledge the tech department later.
"What?"
(Your POV)
The lifeboat was very crowded. It was so full that the new people had to sit on the floor. Water was almost flooding the entire boat; you could feel the cold liquid rising. It was up to your knees.Suddenly, the flash of lightning and the loud clap of thunder told you what was going to happen next - a killing spree.
As the lightning struck a rock that was in front of the lifeboat, chaos erupted in the boat. You and Ell held each other tightly while the silhouettes fought. They kept trying to push the others off the lifeboat, not caring which side.
Finally, after all of the fighting, the storm stopped. The boat was very barren compared to the amount of people that were usually on there. Only ten people remained.
You noticed that the captain was gone. Someone pushed the captain off the lifeboat. One person stood up, their white features slowly fading into the red smile and red eyes of the captain.
Their face twisted from a dull frown to the sadistic smile that the captain wore.
But you couldn't do anything but wait, just wait, for you to wake up for this nightmare.
So you stayed seated, next to Ell.
Hoping to make it out 'alive'.
