They told them she had selective amnesia.
"Selective amnesia is a type of amnesia in which the victim loses certain parts of her memory" the doctor had told them.
This meant she could forget certain things such as big events in her life or things like the ability to swim.
Leo knew there was a chance she could have forgot about her past with her parents, she might have even forgot about her brother.
That's what scared Leo.
She could have forgotten him.
But he was also happy.
She could have forgotten her suffering.
And that was good.
