Leonard

Today's the day Prudence can come out. I was feeling so excited. Still having 10 minutes before I had to go and pick her up, I started to clean up the apartment a little, additionally, I made some sandwiches and packed some juice boxes to take with us for lunch.

Once I had to leave I grabbed my jacket and a bag of spare clothes for Pru then left. Due to me not having a license, I had to get the bus, so waiting at the bus stop I sent a quick text to Pru.

Leonard: On my way now. See you in 20 minutes.

Leonard: Oh and I have you some spare clothes.

Prudence:  Thanks a bunch lil' bro, see you soon x

The bus came shortly after and I advanced on board. Bus drives were somewhat unwinding, I discovered this as for several weeks after Pru's accident I couldn't enter cars so started to take the bus places opposed to getting lifts. I would sometimes find myself on a bus going to god knows where. I would simply let the bus drive and I would simply sit.

I wasn't too certain as to whether or not getting a bus would be okay since Prudence might still have the car accident staining her mind. But hopefully, she would be okay. If not we could just walk.

As long as she's okay it would be fine.

The bus ceased in front of the hospital and I made my way out, another bus would come in about 15 minutes so, rushing upstairs I got Prudence to change.

I ran into her room, tossed her the bag of clothes and spoke, "Hey, go ahead and get ready." And then left her room.

After about 10 minutes Prudence finally emerged from her hospital room.

"Finally" I laughed, "took you long enough"

"Sorry, I took a shower"

"It's okay, we should probably go sign you out and then wait for the bus," I said.

"Okay"

We both walked down to the reception and once there we signed Prudence out. She was smiling the entire time and I felt relieved. Yet at the same time, I didn't know how she would react being back on the roads, regardless of whether it was her driving.

"Do you think you'll be okay" I approached whilst we were sat waiting for the bus.

"Yeah, don't worry, I think I'll be fine" she replied giving me a brisk smile.

"Alright"

We sat idly chatting until the bus came. We both hopped onboard and made our way back to the apartment.

Our apartment was spacious, it was mainly open plan, with the exception of the two bedrooms and bathroom, there was also a balcony which overlooked the river 2 story's down. Once unlocked, we both entered the apartment and I shut the door behind us.

"Welcome home!" I sang.

Prudence turned back to me and lightly laughed, "Thanks, Leo."

The both of us had then made our way to the small kitchen.

"Do you remember your recipe for the blueberry pancakes?" I questioned, not sure whether I should have brought it up.

"Yeah, I remember," she continued, "Want me to make them now?"

"If you want to, that'd be great," I said smiling at her.

Pru had begun to take out the ingredients so I sat at the breakfast bar and watched. Once she had everything she needed she began to cook them, it reminded me of my last birthday when she had made so many that we had days worth of them to eat, so instead of us eating all of them, we gave them out to the homeless. It was a nice gesture. Pru had always cared more about others than herself and I'm thankful to her as if she hadn't, I might not be living the life I am now.

"So remind me again where I worked" Pru inquired.

"Oh, you worked as an airline hostess, you basically got to fly for a job. You use to love it because you got to see beautiful views" I replied.

"Do you think I should go back to working there?" she asked.

"I think you should. Like I said you use to love it so maybe you'll refind your love for it" I said.

"Yeah maybe" she replied quietly.

A couple of minutes later and the pancakes were made and ready to eat. We were both now sat at the breakfast bar and began to eat.

"What time do you want to head out to the forest?" my sister asked.

"Well, it's currently" I looked down to my watch, "10:56, so we could watch a movie and then head out about 2oclock ish?" I said.

"Sounds good," said Prudence after finishing the mouthful of pancakes she had.
