We get to the black top around 7:40 and Hannah let go of my hand and ran toward the school, forgetting that I was even there. Aubree stayed hooked onto me until we reached the building's doors. We went into the cafeteria where her class was waiting along with the rest of K-3rd. I dropped her off, and head down the hall to where my locker was. I was putting my things away before I heard Kaylin's voice.
"Hi Bailie, still cranky?" She laughed.
"Actually no, I'm in a great mood. Plus, I wasn't even upset last night! Just annoyed." I answered.
"Okay! Whatever you say! Anyway, have you seen him?" She asks, looking around.
"Have I seen who?" I ask, totally forgetting about everything we talked about last night.
"The new guy!" She slightly shouts, remindingly.
"Nope. You?" I ask.
"I haven't, actually."
"Wait, shouldn't you know where he is? Besides, he's your neighbor or whatever. And it sounds like you stalk him, so I'm pretty sure you'd know.." I say.
"Just 'cause he's my neighbor doesn't mean I know exactly where he's at every minute of the day!" She says, trying to prove a point. Quite frankly, I didn't get it. And if I did, I'm sure it wouldn't make any sense, to be honest.
"Whatever.." I say, laughing. I close my locker and we begin to walk down the hallway together. "So, tell me about him. What does he look like?" I ask, curiously.
She turns to face me while walking. "Oh, so miss 'I don't care' over here does want to hear about him..?" She says, with a sarcastic tone in her voice.
I roll my eyes and smile at her. "Just tell me." I demand.
"Okay, well, he's got this luscious blonde hair whith a brunette base. He's got these beautiful baby blue eyes that are just amazing.. He's got a deep, Irish accent that's to die for. And his smile.. It may be the best thing in the world.. He's.."
"He's what?" I say, impatiently.
"He's absolutely beautiful." She finishes with a smile. I could tell she was picturing every single detail in her mind by the way she was describing him.
"And what's so dangerous about him?" I ask.
"He's just got that bad boy image, ya know? He's got some tattoos, a pierced ear.."
"Just 'cause he's got an earing and tattoos doesn't mean he's dangerous." I slightly argue.
She sighed. "I guess you're right. Can't judge a book by it's cover, right?" She said, forming a smile on her face. We continued to walk down the hallway until we were abruptly stopped with the sound of a locker being slammed shut. We raced around the corner to see what had happened. The sight was of a tall, blonde headed boy punching one of the popular guys. Everything was silent.
Kaylin nudges me with her elbow. I look over to find her with her jaw dropped, staring directly at the scene. With two words, she whispers, "That's him."
