One

"Ow!" I moaned, a smile tugging at the corner of my lips. My hand cupped my eye and I gasped dramatically. "You just threw popcorn in my eye!"

Livvy smirked and tossed another piece of popcorn up in the air, catching it in her mouth. As she chewed it, she poked her tongue out at me. She was sitting cross-legged on the floor, the huge bowl of popcorn on her lap. Beside her was Alex, who was shifting through a pile of horror movies- she loves watching those. On the couch next to me was Serena, who was curled up under her pink and blue sleeping bag, waiting for the next movie to start. "Just pick one, Alex. Or I'll fall asleep!"

Alex looked up, "Fine, Paranormal Activity 1 or 2?"

"One," Ally said, entering the room with another bowl of popcorn. "Two was just disappointing."

"Mmm..." Liv nods her head in agreement. "Everyone good with number one? Jaz?" She looked at me, raising an eyebrow.

"Works for me," I grin.

Ally jumps on the couch suddenly, squeezing in between Serena and I, while Alex slides the movie into the DVD player and presses play. She quickly scoots backwards and joins Livvy, grabbing a handful of popcorn and pulling her own sleeping bag over her legs. I pull the black blanket of mine over Ally and I, and grab a handful of popcorn for myself, shovelling it down.

"Mkay so," Liv starts, "Just to clarify- for lunch tomorrow, we're wearing our fancy clothes, yeah?"

"Correct," Serena says, grinning. "Because I need you all to look good for my birthday."

Ally slings her arm over Serena's shoulders and pulls her close, "Aw, our little Bean is growing up! The big nineteen!" I laugh and shake my head, focusing my attention back on the movie, and soon, the other girls do the same.

We were currently sitting in the living room of Serena, Liv and I's, at our unit to celebrate her birthday. As we did every year for every one of our birthday's. Just the five of us- it had been that way ever since we'd started high school together years and years ago. Now, we were out of high school and still good friends.

Originally, the five of us had lived in Australia, and after we graduated from high school after that, we decided to go on a trip to England together, and ended up liking it so much that we decided to move their for good. We'd sort of begun adopting the accent too. Alex and Ally shared an apartment together- as they had the best paying part-time jobs, and Serena, Livvy and I shared one.

My day job was as a photojournalist for the local newspaper, which I actually enjoyed and it paid fairly well too. If I needed the extra cash, I would sometimes have a shift as pizza delivery girl, which was only something I did when I was desperate. Serena worked at the local super market, but was currently doing a degree at university in journalism and teaching- she wanted to become a drama teacher, if not a published author.

Livvy, was studying psychology, her wish to become a councillor. In my opinion, she was a really trust worthy person to go to for advice. She would also have the ocassional shift at McDonald's too. Ally and Alex were both working together, which was pretty cool for them, at a local veternarian centre. They only managed the telephones and things, but they worked together behind the desk most of the day, which was a benefit for them.

Basically, we were all pretty happy with where our paths were heading in the future. And we all gave each other for support and attention that we needed. There wasn't really any secrets between us- we were happy just being us, and trusting each other. Another main reason we all got along also includes the fact that we're all pretty crazy... and that we all liked one direction.
