A young kit peeked out from behind the barn, staring at the three cats. Were those two rogues talking to that kittypet? His mind was bombarded with questions about the scene he was watchin. He sniffed, thinking that the world was changing. It was nothing like what his father had told him when he was just a little kit in the nursery. He tried leaning forward a bit more to get a better view and to hopefully hear what they were saying, but ended up slipping on a mossy pebble. He fell face forward onto the grass letting out a yell of dismay from falling.
Scarlet, Jay and Maxine turned around to see the little kit recovering from his fall. They slowly walked over to him, trying not to scare him away.
“Sup, kit?” Jay greeted, sounding relaxed.
“... Sup?” the kit said in a confused manner.
He had never heard of such a greeting. He only got ‘hellos’, ‘hi’s’ and “good whatever the time was’.
Scarlet flicked her tail to the other side of her body and grinned.
“She meant hi. So, what’s your name little kit and why are you so far away from your parents?”
“Silverkit.. I sneaked out of camp. The elders were being mean to me.” He mumbled.
The elders always liked to put him down. He was unsure why but it probably had to do with his father leaving the clan. That event happened when he was 3 moons old. He was almost 6 moons old now, so he still had some time to bond with him before he left. His mother told him that his father was a disloyal cat and that he was spending time with the other clans. Some of the elders were spiteful and so they took out their anger on him, saying that he would never turn into a warrior and would just run away from his warrior duties like his father did. It angered him so very much.
“Silverkit, huh? Which clan are you from?” Maxine asked kindly, putting a comforting smile as to not make the kit run away.
“Thunderclan, the purest and bravest clan in all of the lake territory!” Silverkit exaggerated, hoping the rogues didn't know the story of his father. He didn’t even think about how they knew there were different clans.
“Thunderclan..” Maxine turned to the other two and they both sighed.
“What are your names? I told you mine, so now you have to tell me yours!” Silverkit’s tail waved to and fro, waiting impatiently.
“I’m Scarlet, this is Maxine and the fluffy one is Jay. By the way, Jay’s a girl even though Jay is a boy’s name” Scarlet explained.
“Cool! I’ve never seen rogues and kittypets together so this is exciting!” Silverkit ran up to them, as if he knew them his whole life.
“Well, we’re not really kittypets or rogues so..” Jay murmured with a cough.
“Say, can you take us to your clan? We want to speak to your leader.” Scarlet spoke quickly, hoping Silverkit hadn’t heard what Jay had said.
“Hmm.. I would, but I’m scared that I would get punished..” Silverkit whimpered.
“Well, we could just say we followed you back to the camp.” Maxine suggested.
Silverkit thought about it for a while before nodding.
“Okay, follow me!” he exclaimed excitedly before bounding off. He wasn’t very big so they could keep up with him easily. They walked along a route where it went around and out of windclan territory and through the back of Thunderclan territory. Fortunately, no one got hurt. Well, there was this one thorn bush that Maxine almost stumbled into while looking at one of the gorgeous butterflies that they had here. Back at home, we only saw the typical monarch butterflies. Here, it was as if the butterflies had rainbows on their wings. It was truly jaw dropping.
“We’re arriving at Thunderclan camp.” Silverkit whispered back to the three of them.
The three nodded, watching Silverkit stumble through the camp entrance, hearing a big burst of noise echo through the forest as cats greeted Silverkit back. There was some scolding here and there but mostly sighs of relief.
Scarlet took a big gulp before pointing to the camp entrance so they all knew that it was time to enter.
They took a few steps before they were on a stone slope that led down into in a sunlit clearing, with more than a dozen of cats walking around. One she-cat, who had a pale coat with brown paws and brown tail, turned to look at them before her hackles raised.
“INTRUDERS!” she yowled before the whole of the clan turned to them, hackles raised and claws drawn.
Shoot.
