Heads up, this chapter is dedicated to SpaceBeansKitty! She wrote most of the dream parts! Anyways, continue on your fanfiction journey. Good luck.

I frowned as Roaringpaw’s stubby tail disappeared from my sight. I shook my head and padded up the entrance to the camp, clambering up the rocky and precarious wall of the camp. I glanced at the Medicine Cats’ Den one last time before I followed my tri-colored friend out of the welcoming camp.

I knew Roaringpaw was trying to avoid me for a bit since I heard her growling stomach, which sounded more like a growl from a lion. I know what I would have said to her if she stayed a second longer.

But it IS against the Warrior Code to eat before feeding the clan.. I mused while following Roaringpaw and Stormstep. Guess Roaringpaw’s ravenous appetite would have to wait a bit longer.

Darkfeather stayed behind me, and when I glanced back I saw she was in deep thought. Her pale blue eyes seemed to be worried and distraught. I would’ve asked her what was concerning her, but she would’ve just dust me off to the side, as if I was a stray piece of moss in the Warriors’ Den.

“Crimsonpaw, look out!” Roaringpaw cried out.

My eyes grew wide and I screeched to a stop, looking around to see absolutely nothing.

Roaringpaw burst out laughing while I glanced around, still not getting it.

When Roaringpaw looked at me again, she managed to stifle the laugh that was threatening to burst out.

“There’s nothing there, Crimsonpaw! I just wanted to see your reaction... And it was hilarious!” She guffawed once more.

I growled playfully and pounced on her back. She squeaked and we tussled around, claws sheathed. We batted at each others faces and I managed to cuff her ear before Darkfeather called us off. We dislodged from one another before you could say ‘mouse’ and dust ourselves off, embarrassed but grins were still plastered to our faces.

“Even if you are new apprentices, we’re out hunting! You might’ve scared all the prey from here to Halfbridge with all that racket.” She berated.

Roaringpaw and me looked back at Stormstep, with our obviously fake innocent eyes, and stared into his emotionless dark blue ones. He shook his head.

“Darkfeather’s right, we’ve wasted enough time anyways with Rushpaw. If you don’t catch any prey, then you won’t be eating tonight.” He pointed out.

Roaringpaw gasped and she quickly stood up tall from her place on the ground. Well, as tall as she could, anyways. I giggled behind her and stood up as well.

“No more play fighting like kits?” Darkfeather questioned, making sure we were ready.

“Yes Darkfeather..” We said simultaneously, our ears flattened against our heads in shame.

Darkfeather nodded and muttered under her breath “I shouldn’t have to tell apprentices this.”

I pretended to not hear it, but I subconsciously licked my chest fur before Darkfeather gave the nod, to move on, to Stormstep.

Look, I’ll do you a favor and skip the rest of the trip to the Sky Oak, since it was pretty uneventful.

As the ancient oak, which reached for the sky and stars, came into our sight, I could hear the rustling of leaves. Judging by the way there was no breeze, that meant prey in the trees!

Roaringpaw rashly ran up to the roots of the ancient plant. I was a heartbeat behind her while Darkfeather and Stormstep arrived a little more slowly with amused facial expressions.
