i placed the blade down and sliced.
ah, how satisfying.
the paper tore to shreds.
i continued shredding the paper with the blade, trying to get all my anger and frustration out.
—
i finally went to school. i think i've skipped for about five days now.
"are you okay?" i was snapped out of my daze when kangdae appeared beside me.
"yea," i said hesitantly.
was i really?
i sighed and shook my head. "honestly? i'm not. i'm torn. i'm broken. i just want to- just want to live normally."
i couldn't even cry.
he put his arm around me and placed my head on his shoulder.
usually i'd be squealing inside but now i felt so numb, i couldn't feel anything.
"it's okay. i'm going through the same thing. i understand," he rubbed my arm up and down soothingly.
i mumbled in response as we walked towards the classroom.
—
"oh, you live here too?" as he walked into the lobby with me.
"yea, been here for a while actually," he chuckled and put his hands into his pockets.
i nodded and waved goodbye.
he smiled and i turned towards my block.
—
my phone rang on the kitchen table as i was dusting the photo frames.
i placed the feather duster down and walked over to my phone.
"hello?"
"hi, can i come over?" he asked.
"oh sure," i picked at my nails.
"are your parents home?"
i froze. my palms became sweaty.
"uh, no." i panicked. "they're working."
"oh, okay. see you later."
"wait, don't you need my a- " beep.
well, ok.
