so the main character, CHUNG HWAYOUNG, is a girl suffering from mental issues. i didn't come up with this idea until a while later into writing the book.

[ fyi: i never plan any of my books and i usually just write until i get somewhere. ]

let me just tell you more about her even though it's not that evident in the book.

she lost her parents at a very young age so she lives alone at the apartment. she became 'best friends' with april in kindergarten and lives off her parents' leftover money.

because of the loss of her parents, she started having depression and that's when i bring up the side characters.

the side characters, JUNG TAEYUN, LEE KANGDAE, are some of her mental issues.

jung taeyun:

he was the depression. he came into her life at a certain point and he was by her side. then he left, and again he came back — that's when i start the book. one day, (in the part of the story where he said he'd be staying for one week)

—>

he scratched the back of his head, keeping his gaze on the ground.

"the thing is... i'm only staying for a week."

my heart dropped.

"w-what?"

he sighed and looked at me but instantly avoided my eyes.

"i'm sorry i didn't tell you earlier. i was here for 'experience'. it wasn't my choice, it was my parents'."

she finally decided to be happy again. she didn't want to continue being depressed.

so then, the depression left, again. that's when kangdae comes in.

lee kangdae:

he's the imaginary person.

since she suffers with depression and anxiety naturally comes along, she creates this human with her imagination as to make her think she has someone there for her.

she creates this perfect boy for her and even though she was the one who created him, she couldn't ever get him.

kangdae and taeyun know each other since they're both involved in hwayoung's life.

april fisher:

she didn't really have a big role in this story but she was pretty much also a depressed person.

she also encountered the same things as hwayoung. and both of them kept it in.

she had depression and just like hwayoung, she even had an imaginary person beside her.

though she had hwayoung, they never really got along and 'best friends' was just a term they used.

"yes, i did. now let go," she pushed me off and continued walking, shoving her hands into her pocket.

"ey, you can speak Korean. now leave me to be in peace, please," she pushed me towards the direction of the office and sped off.

one day, she finally decided to leave the world. without telling anyone anything.

i'm pretty sure i'll add more in the future to the characters but that's all i can think of for now..

also, go to next chapter for explanation on the story.
