The New Girl (Fairy Tail fanfic): Chapter 5: Bad Blood
Elaine's POV—
"Do you think she'll ever wake up? It's been a couple of hours already."
The voices were faint as I laid in a bed. It felt familiar, stiff yet warm, like one of the infirmary beds. But I couldn't move, paralyzed from exhaustion I didn't know the cause of. All I could do was listen to the voices around me.
"You have to give her some time, Master. Wendy's spell must have also drained the poor girl."
"No thanks to those troublemakers. What they did was dangerous. They could have killed her."
"Shh, you know it's bad luck to talk about death in a sickroom."

"Mother....Father....." All my thoughts ran as thickly and slowly as blood. "I have to wake up."
But I couldn't. The dreams held me, one after the other, a river of images that bore me along a leaf tossed in the current. I saw shattering glasses of a wall-like art. I saw a white haired male in front the moon making him look like he had a halo above his head. Another man that had blood sprouting out of his hands, but then a third one with scales burned into the palm of his face. People, falling and burning. Falling out of the sky.

"Gray asked for this?"
Someone spoke in a deep voice as I try to wake again but I couldn't pry my eyes open. Gods my chest hurt.
"Yes Master. He requested you give it to her. What's inside?
"It seems to be a necklace with a black lacrima."
"I think I saw it in one of the visions Carla and Wendy showed us."
The world was still too hazy but I recognized those two voices. Levy and Makarov.
"I hope Team Natsu is okay. We haven't heard back from them yet since they left for the Vitalhive Estate."
"Sometimes I wonder if those kids could have just--Look! She moved!"
I felt drawn to something like it was dangling above me. I struggled to pump some drop of adrenaline or strength to escape this weakness, that pull making me think about running again.
"Elaine? Elaine are you feeling alright?"
This sudden instinct intensifies the closer the person was near me. With all my might, my hand grasps forward and I clenched the necklace they spoke of. The moment I touched it a rush took over me like a pulse.
