Elaine raised her head, her expression cold and distant, her sword glinting dangerously as she pointed it directly at them.
"Yes, my love," she said, her voice chillingly devoid of any warmth or humanity.
The Elaine standing before them was not the friend they knew—this was someone else, someone colder, more powerful, and under the full control of Kaname. The darkness in her eyes reflected nothing of the person they once cherished.
"Elaine... you're being controlled. We're your friends," Happy pleaded, his paws extended toward her as if trying to reach the part of her that still cared. "Don't fall into his plan—"
"Silence," Elaine snarled, cutting him off as she lunged forward with terrifying speed.
Happy froze, too stunned to react, but Erza was quicker.

Erza's gauntlet met Elaine's glowing blade with a deafening clash, the force of the impact sending sparks flying. The shockwave from their collision reverberated through the room, making the ground tremble beneath their feet.
"Erza! We can't fight her!" Gray shouted, his voice thick with disbelief and anguish. He couldn't bear to see one of their own turned into this.
"We don't have a choice!" Erza's voice cracked, the strain of the situation weighing heavily on her. She didn't want to hurt Elaine any more than Gray did, but right now, survival was the priority.
With a sharp push, Elaine broke through Erza's guard, sending her and Gray tumbling back. They crashed hard against the wall, the impact knocking the wind out of them.
"Elaine, it's us! Your friends!" Lucy cried, stepping forward. Her voice trembled with fear and disbelief. "It's me, Lucy!"
Elaine's deadened gaze turned to Lucy, and what she saw in Elaine's eyes made her heart skip a beat—emptiness, cold as ice. There was no recognition, no warmth.
