The New Girl (Fairy Tail Fanfic): Chapter 23: Crash Landing on Edolas
Third Person POV—
"OOF!!"
Erza, Lucy, Gray, Serano, Juvia, and the still-unconscious Elaine tumbled onto a cold, gleaming marble floor after being yanked into the black void. The landing was unceremonious, leaving them in a heap, blinking in confusion.
Around them, partygoers dressed in extravagant gowns and sharp suits gasped, clutching their drinks and plates. The entire ballroom fell silent as the grand party came to an abrupt halt. One person, clearly too shocked to hold onto their glass, dropped it with a clatter, the liquid splattering onto the floor in front of the bewildered Mages. The shattering echoed through the ballroom, breaking the silence.
"Uuuh... I guess "crashing a party" is a bit too literal this time, huh?" Lucy said with a nervous chuckle, trying to break the tension. It didn't help.
"Intruders!!" someone yelled, and suddenly, the crowd surged with whispers of confusion and fear. All eyes were on the Mages as guards clad in armor started to close in, their weapons gleaming ominously.
Gray, ever ready, slammed his fist into the ground.
Gray: Ice Make Floor
Nothing.
"G-Gray-sama! Your Magic!" Juvia exclaimed in disbelief, still holding onto the drowsy Elaine.
"What the—" Gray stammered as he looked at his empty hands, panic rising.
Lucy pointed toward the towering windows that lined the ballroom. "Oh...my Gods...it can't be!"
Erza followed her gaze, her eyes narrowing. "Floating landmarks... and no Magic..."
"No. Way," Gray said, his voice dropping.
Serano rolled her eyes, still trying to wring out the water from her hair. "Looks like we're not in a beach with booze and crazy Mages, Toto." She paused, noticing the eerie atmosphere. "Where the hell are we?"
All eyes turned toward her. In unison, they answered grimly. "EDOLAS!"
Erza snapped into action. "Move!" She shoved past a few guests as the group scrambled to avoid the incoming guards, pushing their way toward the nearest exit.
"I'm still beat from that damn swim!" Serano groaned, her annoyance palpable as she trudged behind.
A crackling sound followed by a sharp burst sent Gray sprawling to the floor, pinned by some kind of strange energy weapon.
"Gah!" Gray gasped, his body locking in place.
"Gray!" they all shouted, but before they could react, the guards surrounded them.
Erza, ever the strategist, assessed the situation quickly. No Magic, two members down, and surrounded by a hostile crowd.
