                 *Cynthia's POV*

It confused me why Ben wanyed to go so suddenly. First, he was crying, now he wants to hunt.

"Ben!" I yelled, trying to catch up. "why are you in such a hurry?"

"Because!" He yelled back. "we're going hunting! For a kid!"

I stopped dead in my tracks as my eyes widened. He couldn't be serious...

"Cynthia, just trust me."

"N-No!" I shouted in disbelief.

"Cynthia, just listen-"

"No Ben! If i can't have my own child, then i'm sure as hell not going to steal someone else's!!"

"please, it's not like that!"

"then what is it Ben?!"

he sighed and held my hand.

"we won't steal someone else's." He said quietly. "we'll find an orphanage. We'll find the perfect child. We'll make a family on our own. And it can be whenever you want. All you have to do is say the word."

"i don't want one now... But i'll be more than happy to get one when i'm older." I said while smiling. Whatever anger i had a few seconds ago had vanished. We could actually make this work...

He smiled and grabbed my hand, leading me through the forest. We were both smiling and laughing. All we needed to find was a good orphanage... One that had the perfect child... No. Not the perfect child.

We wanted our child.

***

We had gone through three orphanages... Three... Luckily, we both had normal clothes on, so all we needed to find was a pair of sunglasses for Ben to wear over his eyes. We were completely exaughsted. So many kids... Yet, none seemed to fit us. We weren't even there to take one home. We just wanted to see if there was one that we could maybe pick up later.

"hey." Ben said softly. I looked up at him as he gestured to a small brick building. It was far less fancy than the others. But it was probably the last one we were stopping at today. We walked through the door hand in hand.

"oh hello there!" Said the nice looking old woman at the desk. Sge had a nice smile and seemed ok.

"hi." I said cheerfully. "could we see some of the kids?"

"of course! Are you looking to take one home?"

"oh, no. We're just seeing if we can find the right one."

she nodded and motioned us over to the desk. Ben and i walked up to her and she gave us a few peices of paper. It was a form that we've had to fill out 3 times now. Ben nodded and filled out all the papers. It was our information and some numbers. Well... Not necessarily ours but some of his past victims that matched our appearences and life.

"alrighty then." She said happily. She led us through the small hallways and into a common room. There sat all the children which only ranged from 3 to 10. They were all either playing with dolls, coloring in coloring books, or watching a cartoon on a small TV. There was a middle aged woman sitting with all the children, talking and laughing. There was one child though... He sat in the corner by himself... All he had was a small book, which meant he could most likely read. He had ruffled black hair and small, barely noticable freckles. He looked very skinny and his skin was pale. I felt a connection.

"umm... How old is the child in the corner."

"he's 7, dear." The middle aged woman said smiling.

"Ben..." I said softly. He looked over at me, and raised his eyebrows with a smile.

"is he...?"

I nodded happily.

"i feel something with him... i need to talk to him."

He nodded happily and we made our way over to the old woman.

"could we speak to the 7 year old in the corner please?" I asked politely.

Her faced turned to a concerned look, but soon changed back to normal.

"of course. Right this way."
