A note from my mind

I really like metaphors, see?
they let me say what I really mean
they let me be as vague as I want
they let me break my comfort's bond
the few that understand them, though
deep in their heart, they really know
I'm actually talking about them
and what they're going through right then
their hearts hurt with every word
they know I meant every word they heard
for, I don't speak lies, I speak my mind
for, if I don't, I'll become blind
what I believe will fall behind
the truth will be harder to find
for, the truth will be long gone
my words will just become a pawn
moved by a new, fake song
everything would be so wrong
it's fine if I lose, if the queen chose
snooze buttons over of a bouquet of roses
they matter more to me than I to them
for, I am a pain, and they're a gem
but alas, please do not worry
my reflection is never blurry
I'll never break my precious mirror
I'll never scratch the fragile silver
that's a promise I will make
a promise I'll try to never break
so, don't you worry, my lovely dear
my reflection will never disappear
