there is one word that's the strongest
it sees the darkest and the longest
a lot of people fear this word
they shy away when it is heard
they don't want it to know the truth
erasing stories at their root
only a few will ever know
what this small word will go to show
bringing tears and causing us pain
or bringing us shade from the rain
this powerful word is not love
it has shown to be more rough
it tells our joys and tells our ends
