“whoa! Easy there Dr. Rogers! I call names randomly” Jared explained to Chartreuse.

“If you call people names randomly, drop it, Dr. Colton because I have a name” Chartreuse defensively squatted his hands on her shoulder.

Jared raised his hands up in the air, “Okay, okay… then get inside the freakin’ car woman!”

“No, I’ll just take the cab” Chartreuse insisted.

“GET.IN.THE.DAMN.CAR.WOMAN”

“Not working with the dominant voice, say this, thank you for the help Dr. Colton but I will just call Erin for a lift.”

“then do it, if she won’t answer then—“ Jared stopped when Chartreuse waved her hand in front of his face stopping him from speaking.

“Yes, Erin? Can you pick me up? I- uhm… car won’t start” She said over the phone cupping her hand on the mouthpiece not to let Jared know who is she talking with.

“sorry, C, I was caught in a traffic on the way to a patient’s house. Can you just take the cab? Or if you can wait I’ll be there in an hour?” Erin said over the phone.

“No, t’is okay, I’ll just take the cab—“ she answered sheepishly.

“Wait I’ll call somebody nearby to help you up.”

“Oh! Thank you”

“hold on, I’ll have the line on Zac” there was a long ring before the sleepy voice of Zachary answered.

“hmmmm. This better be good Erin because I am not in the mood for your orders. I am not feeling well” Zac said over the conference call of Erin.

“look, Zac, C’s car went to a horrible engine cut. Can you pick her up at the hospital?”

“no, Zac it is okay I’ll take the cab you are not feeling we—“” Chartreuse said.

“I’ll just call a driver to pick you up on the park—“

“She is in the hospital, Zac. Not on a friggin’ park—“ Erin cut Zac but before she even finished the sentence, Zac answered. “kinda delirious, can’t think straight! Hell, I can’t even a good name out of the phone book. Wait for it C, I’ll just give your number to a friend of mine…he’ll take care of your lift problems an—“ and the line went dead.

Chartreuse just waited for Zac’s instruction for somebody arriving, maybe he is phoning Eddie, the ambulance driver since he lived literally inside the hospital. The old man isn’t a bad driver afterall, but he can’t separate the FEELS of driving an ambulance a normal car.

“hmm. Your ride is taking you long” Jared said making Chartreuse be reminded of his presence.

“My ride will be right here in 10 minutes, my friends already contacted the person to pick me up.” Chartreuse said while forcing her chin up.

Then after 10 minutes of staring contest between Jared and Chartreuse, Jared’s phone rang.

“Ah, Yes, okay. Okay… I am actually infront of her… alright wait.” Jared tapped a button on his phone screen and Chartreuse heard the faint voice of Zachary over the loud speaker.

“hey C, sorry, Jared is the next thing available, I hope you don’t mind, Erin can’t make it right now, ahm, Jared, can C hear me?”

“Yes, Zac. You better be fine tomorrow mrning or else, I’ll—“ she said while her teeth is clenched.

“Yeah, sorry, Andy is with Henry. I’ll drop by tomorrow morning. Jared will give you a lift home.”

With that, the line went dead—or should she says, Jared switched the phone off. “There is no point of arguing, Dr. Rogers. Seems to be your friend, Zac happens to be a bestfriend of mine. Get in the car or I’ll help you get on it?” Jared said.

You better be fine tomorrow Thompson and Lawson or I’ll cut the head of you two for picking this ‘driver’ for me. Chartreuse mentally slapped herself for granting the fine-specimen-of-a-man’s wish named Jared.

Chartreuse walked over the back seat, when she heard the annoying sound from Jared’s mouth. “tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Not there Dr. Rogers, that is for close friends only.”

“Where do you expect me to sit? On the compartment, sorry but if you wish me to squeeze and be tangled with my own legs into that compartment of yours, I will just prefer walking and freezing in the cold night.” She said with much angst.

“no, I won’t, as much as I like you seeing you tangled NOT WITH YOUR OWN LEGS” Jared smirked “I prefer you to sit on the passenger’s seat”

“Okay” she said as she turned her heels towards the passenger’s seat while Jared is grinning like a Cheshire cat following her.
