Carl,

If you're reading this, I imagine that I'm gone. I'm sorry for leaving you, I wanted nothing more than to have that happy ending, that life that we have worked so hard for. We deserve it, and you can still have it.

When I met you all those years ago, I would never have dreamed of the life we have lived together. All of those little memories have turned into the most extraordinary life. A broken world brought us together, two kids with much to learn and much to experience. Ours was never going to be a happy story, it was going to have ups and even harder falls, but every moment, every memory, I would die a thousand times before I would forget any of them. You are my home, my life, my world.

I love you with all of my heart, and I always have. I would never wish our story to be any different, and I loved every second of it because I got to spend it with you. I may be gone, but I'm still here with you. No one is ever really gone when they live on in our hearts and our memories. You took my shattered soul and you put it back together.

You are my strength, Carl Grimes, the reason I lived for as long as I did

We will have that happily ever after, I promise.

Until we meet again.

Your Lauren.

When Carl lay back in his bed that night, he didn't cry any more tears. He knew he'd see her before the sun rose to another day. His fingers traced over the red and swollen bite on his shoulder. It wasn't a curse, it wasn't an end.

For him, it was a blessing.
